My insurance policy term is about up and with my son about ready to start driving I am thinking about how big the insurance bill is going to get. I am curious about what folks are doing for boat insurance. I am looking for a solid company that will cover my boat and the gear in it and one that will support you if/when it comes time for a claim and of course I am looking to save money which is probably at odds with my stated desires but a guy can ask right?
I personally have not had to file a claim (knock on wood) but my previous boat was totaled and the ensuing battle with the company of the person who hit my rig was less than enjoyable not to mention costing me half of August, all of September and part of October before we got it all settled. My agent, actually her staff, where instrumental in helping the other company begin to feel a sense of urgency and getting things resolved by telling me what to do and say in dealing with the adjuster, so I am not trying to knock my agent or the company she represents just trying to make sure I am an informed consumer.
Thanks
