On a More Positive Note- Hudson Ford

I get a letter in the mail from the Ford company. Seems there’s been a recall on my Ford F-150 pick up. There’s a wire around the steering column that if rubbed through the insulation, the drivers air bag deploys.

My FW has been after me for months to have this corrected, but with my schedule, it’s hard to find a half day to have this done as the letter instructed.

So, I send an email to Hudson Ford explaining my hours and asking for suggestions.

IDO’s own Todd Miller responds by saying “BK, bring it in after work. We’ll have you back on the road in 1/2 hour. Can’t keep a catman down now can we?”

Yesterday after work I drive in. Told whoever was behind the service counter what I needed, gave him my keys and went to the waiting area.

In less than a half hour, Todd himself came out to talk to me. Turned into a fishing conversation of course, then he said he would be right back, they were just finishing up.

When he handed me my keys, he said my windshield wiper broke when they were washing it. First off, I didn’t see anything in the recall letter that said I was going to get a car wash. Secondly, that wiper blade was bad and I was planning on replacing it soon. Just forget about it when it’s not raining.
Great I thought, but now I’m going to pay through the nose for a wiper blade from a dealer.

When I get the bill, there wasn’t any charge. Couldn’t believe it!

I said my goodbyes and went out to the washed and wiped down truck. In the cab I found a note.

“Your account has been credited for one free oil change.”

Todd, you guys make it hard not to come back!

    Thank you!

Just think about that… we are thinking about putting in a tampon and tissue aisle here at the dealership…. just for people like you who like to do it all in one stop

    Good job on the derailment

I didn’t know the FW was there.

    Good to meet you too.

Now that I have to come back for an oil change, we’ll have to talk more about your minnow business…I think you called them “bass”.

The woman bought her Mustang last fall from Tony at Hudson Ford. I was at her side the entire time (well except the time I spent drooling over the $60,000 Mustang on the showroom floor) and the team at Hudson Ford went above and beyond making it one of the best car buying experiences her and I have ever witnessed/been through. I will be seeing Tony when it comes time to buy my next vehicle for Hudson Ford

Sure my browser can keep me from misspelling (usually), but not misusing.

He kind of has an invested interest though, no? It was a pun! A pun! Yeah, that’s it.

    did it work?
