Never been but I hear great things about Oceanaire but very spendy too
mfreeman451Posts: 543August 21, 2011 at 4:32 pm #989839oceanaire or stellas.. stellas has a better atmosphere and a roof top balcony, also known for their oysters.
August 21, 2011 at 4:35 pm #989840The oceanaire is excellent. Their shellfish sampler is great. As said earlier it is pretty spendy though.
August 21, 2011 at 5:25 pm #989842Isn’t there a new place in STP? Heard something about a nice o-bar there, but can’t remember the name.

Oceanaire for sure, Stellas doesn’t come close IMHO.
x2 Just bring a full wallet. On average expect to put out about 3 bills for 2 people.
August 22, 2011 at 12:53 am #989891I don’t know what Stuart orders but our bill was closer to 1/2of that.

Oceanaire Or Mccormick and Schmicks
x2 on Mccormick and Schmicks

August 22, 2011 at 2:16 pm #989959Ok – NOT the best “seafood” restaurant in the twin Cities but $7.95 for 1/2 dozen of the biggest oysters I have ever seen – good calamari and shrimp too. Steaks, ribs, pasta – surprisingly good food. il Premio at Mystic Lake. No booze though. Cheap fine dining – yes!

Boo Mac and Schmucks. I was suffering from a little vertigo and they cut me off from drinking.
Seriously had one drink in bar while we waited. I tool the long way around the hostess station because I couldn’t find the bathroom. When they seated us and I ordered a drink, the waitress refused and brought over the manager.
I didn’t order seafood, but I can say the steak I had was not much to brag about.
This is the new Edina one, I am sure the one downtown is much better. However the franchise lost me as a customer that night.

Not sure on the price as the tab was paid by software company, but the food was excellent at Oceanaire. The Black & Blue Halibut was unbelievable.

Did I leave out the fact it was a double bacon martini? Or was it a Coors light. Maybe both.August 22, 2011 at 4:19 pm #989986Quote:

I hate that, when they beat their meat.
HillbiehlePosts: 107August 22, 2011 at 4:37 pm #989991My pick is Oceannaire, however they are both great. Unsure if they still have it, but on Sunday’s Oceannaire was offering Lobster for two for $60 or $80. Included whole lobster each, side, appetizer, and dessert and 1/2 off bottle of wine. I don’t think Stellas and Oceannaire should be in the same category. Both have excellent food but the atmosphere is totally different. Sport coat at Oceannaire with and at Stellas your water is served in a plastic red coke cup and it can be very loud (if you get the picture). Oceannaire is more suited for quiet dinner occasions. A larger group will fit in much better at Stellas.
August 22, 2011 at 5:10 pm #989997I have not been here, but will be checking it out here soon. Good review in recent Strib article. Love those oysters!!

2 bottles of wine 1 appetizer,2 meals, 2 deserts and a 20% tip.It runs about 250 to 300 every time I eat there.

You drink a bottle of wine each?
1 bottle for the main course and 1 bottle for desert. If we don’t finish them, the waiter will re-cork the bottle, then you are leagle to take with. Its a very common practice.
Pug,I don’t know what M&S is.Is that your bondage club?Where you get spanked with your Wallmart whip while wearing your Sears poncho.
