Desperado,
That was the funniest set of 4-5 posts I’ve seen in some time. I started laughing at the first one and couldn’t stop.
Good stuff!
We could replace Walleye on a stick at Twins games with Silvers on a stick!

I’d like to see more information on building the “barrier” that they keep talking about at the mouth of the Croix at Hudson. How bad will that screw up the Spring and Fall jig bite that we have been blessed with there each year.
Certainly not an expert but if they (Asian Carp) infest the waters and topple the food chain, the jigging bite at Prescott might be the last of our worries.
I’m not saying the sky is falling. Just saying Mike.

So just stock the river full of muskies. They’ll take care of those pesky carp.
What’s that song about some wrinkly old hag who ate a spider?

Duly noted. I know how and where I am fishing this fall for walleye.
Obviously I meant Presoctt, not Hudson. Thanks for clarifying Brian. And I agree that an infestation, if there is one, would be much worse than a jigging opportunity at Prescott, but if they do put up this so called barrier there, it seems like it will affect a whole lot more than just the fishing.
I don’t know the St. Croix river basin, but think about the Mississippi. How many creeks/lakes end up in the Mississippi. If these fish adapt to our environment, they will end up in Canada eventually. I know this is doom and gloom and will probably take 40-50 years, but I’m sure hoping my grandkids want to catch walleyes.

Your on the right track. I believe its down in Missouri or one of those states the Alligator Gar are making a huge come back after almost being wiped out by folks thinking they were a scrub fish. Apparently the Alligator gar love Asian carp and are controlling the population of the carp in some areas.
Ironic that a ounce considered scrub fish comes back and saves the day.
Sounds like there’s more to bubble with this “acoustic bubbler” barrier.
First it doesn’t work very well and second the frequency can be adjusted to allow certain species to go through and keep others at bay.
Maybe someone that actually knows something about them can chime in here…as I only know about fish ladders.

Sounds like we’d be better off hiring scuba divers to go down there an act as bouncers.
Cool fish can get in, all of the loser carp have to go somewhere else.
