Allen my guess for companies not hiring people with excessive tattoos would be most major retailers, grocery stores, fast food places, service providers, HomeTown Plumbing and most likely the local gas company to. Not a chance in heck Im going to send some painted freak representing my company into old misses Johnsons house hoping she has a open mind and will just understand. You cant tell me Allen that your company does not take tats into consideration when hiring service people to. Wouldnt be surprised if they have a policy that all tats need to be covered in the work place.

Actually they don’t and they have quite a few with tats.

If you’d read my response you’d see I said I wouldn’t hire anybody with excessive anything if they had to deal with the public.
And the OP said large, not excessive btw

Note to self: Make yourself look like a clown—join the circus. It is what it is–why do humans continually put themselves into the realm of shades of grey????

    Humans are interesting creatures……

Bibilical times: “Hey Bob, wonder how good I’d look with this bone stuck thru my nose?” Bet there were a few back then that thought it wasn’t such a good idea (probably mostly mother’s of rebellious sons)—think this is one of those age old dicussions that will never get solved.

BTW, the Pack won the Superbowl!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Maybe I will be chastised for this comment but I have tats. 1 small, 1 medium sized and half my back covered. All my tats are covered by clothing for the most part so many people do not realize I have them. I did work in the service industry successfully and also in an office environmnet dealing face to face with potential customers. When they learned through conversation that I had tatoos not one of them had a lesser opinion of of me. This is only my experience and I cannot speak for anyone else or any other company. I am not yet 50 but closing fast, and do not regret any of my tattos. I thought about it long and hard before getting them and would do it again, in fact I do plan on getting a couple more done yet. Granted I did mine before it was the popular thing to do. It seems with tats either you like them or you don’t. As for me I like tats, not all though, like with anything it can be over done and seen it before. I like one of kind tats done properly and placed properly. As they become more common in the work place and society I think they will be become more accepted. A little bit of trivia for you, did you know the first lady of the presidency, Eleanor Roosevelt had a tattoo? It is true, it is suprising when you find out what famous and influential people had tats. So to each there own, but don’t judge a person because they have tat, or peircing or dress a little different, etc, you will miss out on knowing some pretty cool people that could enhance your business, life, etc.
