And how many were surprised at his annoucement? He should have admitted that he was such an that no one wanted him vs. stating he was retiring. I wonder who will bite the bullet and bring him back.
Say what you want about him, but he was a HELL OF A BALLER!!!! He was one of the BEST EVER…..And I’m a Packer Fan!!!!

At what? shaming his teammates? and I cant stand football!
Had he dropped his ego he may not have dropped the ball as often!
153 Tds. 2nd to Jerry Rice for all time record. He could play. Personally couldn’t stand him as a Pack fan.
And if he stays retired and so does Brett both will go into Hall of Fame together. Add in the possibility of T O retiring and where would you fit all the ego onto the H O F stage?

Well….Tom Osborne never played in the NFL, so I don’t think he’s able to get into the HOF.
That’s the only T.O. I know.

Personally I could not stand the guy either and I am a
Viking fan!
I say good riddance to the guy he had zero class!
Far more explosive than TO. Say what you want. I couldn’t stand him either. Mike Tyson sucks too… but he is boxing. RM isn’t to football what Tyson was to boxing… but you get the reference. He is a top-notch douche bag.. but… he was good.
Like him or not…he was good, and is laughing
all the way to the bank. Being a Lions fan, I never
enjoyed all the TDs he made, well wait a minute…that
is every team against the Lions!!
I may be one of the few that liked him. His antics were pretty funny at times. And any guy that embarrasses that phoney Joe Buck hack is all right in my book.
And now I hear the Vikings got rid of him because he came in the tunnel after a game and yelled at Ziggy, “You better fire your F’ing coach (Childress)”. He was only saying what the rest of us were. Not sure if I am getting this story wrong, but it was what I heard on the radio the other day about when we let Moss go and there were conflicting stories.
one of my favorites to watch on the field. that season with the patriots is one i’ll not soon forget.
I agree he was good when he wanted to be but, he sure wasn’t one that a person would want there kids to follow as an example of a sportsman
One of the greatest true athletes in the history of athletic sports.
One of the greatest asses in the history of athletic sports. He was single handedly able to bring and entire team up to, but more often down to his level. I considered him a zit on your butt that you just want to pop so the pain goes away.
Randy also did tons for charity and visted children’s hospitals. He had lots of Vikings tickets reserved for kids and gave them out for each game-he kept that up even after he was traded to Oakland and played in New England.
I remember over and over again (esp vs the Packers) Randy catching a TD and looking for a father/son in the stands and giving them the ball.
Sure he didnt always carry himself in the best of ways on and off the field. But he also did a ton of good. It really wasn’t well know how much he did, because he didnt call press conferences or look to draw attention to it.
In that way, I wish more athletes were like Randy Moss.
Thank you Randy!
hey, he didnt earn the name “FREAK” for no real paricular reason now did he!!!

Amen.
And many times, like the “taking a play off bull”, was crap that most receivers do. I found it funny when they would single him out on a end around run to the other side of the field.
As long as the names TO and Ochohomo live on, he won’t be the worst athlete out there from a media stand point.

+3
Hopefully we will see him next as a head coach! LOL
He did seem to have all the answers.
His talent was off the charts. He was the best receiver on the field when he lined up. He also made the other receivers that much better. He ran past corners like they were standing still.
Did he have the “other” side? Sure, but he wasn’t nearly as bad as people wanted to believe. I wish him luck in the future and hope to see him on the field again this year.

Wasn’t he a steward on the infamous buck necked booty cruise?
They didn’t allow Raiders on the boat.
I remember watching Moss’s first NFL TD. I would say he is one of the main reasons I became a bigger fan of the NFL. I was pretty fair weather before him. Sitting in the dome that day all I could think about was getting him picked up off waivers in my fantasy team.
He’ll be back…someone will over pay him for half the season. He’ll try for 2-3 games and get bored again. I think he was the most electric reciever his first 2 or 3 seasons. Then he started drinking his own Kool-aid. Pretty much as soon as Chris Carter retired, Randy didn’t have a babysitter anymore and it showed.
Recievers arent the only players “taking plays off” either. You think D-linemen give it all they got every play… NOPE!!!!! They don’t try for a couple plays and let the O-lineman get complacent then bull rush him on an obvious passing down for a sack. They call it “playing the run” which is true at times but many times they are just taking a breather.
