I know the best way to move a fridge is upright but I have a bit of a drive and am worried about getting the top securely tied so it dont tip over. If I haul it laying down will I still be alright if I leave it upright for a while upon arrival before plugging it in?

Yep on its side is fine as long as you let it sit for a while before you set it up so the freon drains back down to the condensor. I usually wait a day or two. Good luck.

Check with an Appliance shop, you may need to strap the condensor down so it does not bounce all over. Usually on rubber or spring seats that allow movement.
