Anyone know anything about a law in MN that requires you to remove your hitch if not pulling something?

I’ve never heard of such a law. Where did you hear anything like that?

You know, the last time I hit my shin on my hitch I hollered “#%#$# there should be a law”.

I didn’t think anyone was listening.

Buzz, you have got to be kidding?

A few months ago here in NY there was this same rumour that Stae Police were going to start giving out tickets for trucks/cars with hitch inserts sticking out.I called our Trooper barracks and they said this rumour is just that- a rumour! It got so widespread that the State Police, Sheriff and local Police put it on there websites and in the media that this was just a rumour. Hope its the same for you guys out there.

If it blocks license plate they can site you, usually just ask you to remove when not in use. I once had a very young officer make me clean my plate on my old farm pickup that I’d only driven into closest town to get a implement tire repaired during planting in a late spring. He then wondered why I seemed upset, so I told him.

Heard it as a rumor and just wanted to check it out to see if i missed something, the way the legislature in Minnesota has been proceeding, I thought that maybe instead of just rewriting how we practice conservation; now they were looking to change how we drive. (LOL

Great, I hope no powerful idiots from Nebraska are reading this- really sounds like something they’d come up with.

I say we should be able to leave it on for protection for when someone rearends ya. If I would of left mine in last winter on the way to the ice fishing show I would of had no damage to my truck.
