A few buddies and me are going to go to Kansas City for the Vikings game in early October.

For those of you who have travelled to KC- can I get some tips on where to stay, where to eat and where to drink some beers?

We are figuring on staying in an area where we would drink/eat. We would hit the stadium on the way outta town- basically.

    Thanks for your help guys!

I know KC is known for BBQ, but there are major differences in every restaurant. Jack Stack is good, but there are 3 other genres of BBQ to test and draw your own opinion. Those 3 are:
    KC Masterpiece
    Arthur Bryants
    Oklahoma Joe’s

KC Masterpiece is a restaurant. Bryants is a classic BBQ “joint”. Oklahoma Joe’s is in a gas station.

There are many others in KC from which to chose. And that is the point. It’s your choice.

    Stay at the Crown Plaza.

If you want to drink some beers and look at the scenery, I recommend staying at the Plaza as mentioned above and taking a walk up to Westport where there are a lot of establishments where you can get a cold beer! My favorite KC BBQ is Haywards in Overland Park. I buy a case of their sauce every time I get to KC.
