The following is a prime example that you cannot fix stupid. California is the home of the fruits and nuts, this proves it.
The politicians and the Chief of Police in L.A. are stupid. This is totally beyond belief. It seems it will be impossible to
solve the problem with those so called leaders in charge.

If this is to political I’m sorry….poof. But this kind of word needs to get out

    Quoted from the article:

“As we reviewed our impound policies it became obvious to me that they had disparate impact on individuals based on something that was entirely out of their control,” Beck said.

Apparently, it’s to much to ask illegal immigrants to not drive illegally, without licenses or insurance, in the first place.

Not only should they impound the car but they should deport those who are illegal. This is nuts!!

I was watching this show about the ICE, they wont even look at deporting if it is less than 50 people because of the paperwork. That came right from the mouth of an agent. What paperwork? They weren’t here in the first place on any paper so toss them over the fence and be done with it!!!!!!!! My fix, start collecting them like aluminum cans and bring em in when you have enough to get a good return if 50 isn’t enough, where the hell are we going to start? You wanna be here, do it the right way or get out!

Pretty easy for a bunch of mid west boys to pass judgment on a issue they have very little contact with or knowledge about. Guess I would think and hope that the people that live in that area would have a better understanding of their issues and how to deal with them.

Got any local issues that are bothering you guys this morning that might need some solving. Brett, how about that police chief in Wisc that want to ban all drinking in boats? Maybe tackle that issues before you go solving problems in parts of the US that we know little about.

Well Mike, maybe you need to make a trip to Sparta

I have nothing against anyone here legally, they are here to work

Stand in the food line right here and watch how many food cards get thrown out with 2 carts full of the top shelf stuff. If you yelled green card 99% would take off running. This while the wife and I pay cash for our Best Value items to get us through till next pay day. Who’s covering there bill?

Hey finally a job that we can take back from the illegal immigrants! Someone needs to open a “Legal Driving Service” This might become a franchise in California and would be a chance for them to give some welfare baby a job to go drive their car for $500 instead of the $1000 fine.

illegally entered the US and now driving with no license and no insurance happens plenty enough around here
We midwesterners have seen the impact often enough; actually, TOO often
and … The results have had significant consequences within our own state

Now there’s a good point! I never gave that a thought.

Cars have doors to keep a person in…boats just have water to make sure you land softly.

It seems to me that the Chief is simply saying that if an illegal is stopped (obviously without license) they will provide reasonable time for someone else (with license) home. Otherwise, it would seem, that the illegal’s vehicle would sit in impound indefinately. Now, not matter if legal or illegal, if they are drunk (remember it’s a sobriety checkpoint) they follow the legal process.

With emotional hot topics, I’ve found that it becomes difficult for us to delineate fact from emotionally fueled ‘isms.

I don’t care what the Native Americans think/thought, this is about illegal immigrants that should not be here in the first place. Like I mentioned, I don’t care who you are, if you are here legally I welcome you. I have great friends that have gone through all the red tape to become an American citizen. They have good jobs and pay there share of taxes never looking for a hand out. We can’t take care of our own let alone those that do not belong here.

And if you want to play the racists card, is this sheriff not be racist by taken my vehicle because I’m a citizen and belong here but let some guy find a way to get his car back home that doesn’t even belong here? Really?? Do you think the dude that just got let off is going to sell his car, never drive it again or even try to become a citizen? Again….Really?

Why even have boarders if there are no penalties?

Try to pull this crap in Mexico, Not sure but I’d say the results would scare the bagee-bus out of a person!

That wouldn’t be racism. The only reason he’d impound your car is if you were drunk. Perhaps classism or profiling? I’m not sure if he’d sell his car and follow the laws. I doubt it. Many people don’t let one or two run-ins with the law “scare them straight”. I’m reminded of some articles about repeat OWI’s etc. Or parents who throw alcohol parties for underage kids. In my experience with people, laws are guidelines to many. They follow them if they best serve their needs. A lot of people do what’s best/easiest for them (admittedly, I’m in that boat from time-to-time). Hot topics spur emtionally led reactions.

You make it sound like these people are breaking into our country to sit around and do nothing. Guess Im picturing the police in Cal. getting tired of taking away vehicles from people that are just driving to their jobs. And by jobs most likely some very meager paying jobs to. Most likely the same reason you see many of these folks in line at the grocery store buying their food with public assistance. Because they are doing the work many of us legal americans do not want to do. Because we all are to busy working.

Yes we do have our own issues in the mid west but I dont think illegal immigration is real high on the list.

We are a nation of laws that are supposed to be applied equally. If it is illegal for one group it is illegal for all groups. If a law is not being enforced then it needs to be legally removed or enforced. If that guy doesn’t need a drivers license than I don’t either or we both do.

Would the unemployment rate be high on your list? You could argue the 2 issues are related. I think I’ve heard the number of illegals is about 14 million. If half of them are working, wouldn’t it be great to fill 7 million jobs with legal workers? Granted, many of our legally unemployed are unwilling to do the same work for the same pay.
