The wife and I are headed to Duluth during MEA. Just looking for a good hotel to stay at thats reasonably priced. I know the Canal Park area is more expensive but since it’s my first time there I would like to stay in that area. Any info would be great. Thanks!

Hawthorne Suites has surprisingly cheap rooms for what you get, though more expensive than some down there. It’s been a few years, but they had a beer/pizza special from like 5-7, all you could eat/drink for free with your stay. Pizza was from Old Chicago too! Check and see if that’s still around.

It has been a few years but we always liked to stay at The Inn on Lake Superior 
If you are looking to stay right in Canal Park, I have found the best pricing to be at the Hampton Inn.
If you are open to staying downtown at the Holiday Inn or Radisson there are generally opportunities for deeper discounts. You can take the skywalk from downtown to Canal Park.

When you go look for a place to have lunch or dinner, make sure to go to Grandma’s right by the lift bridge, great food!!, also try there wild rice stuffed mushrooms, 
Hampton might not be the cheapest, but is a good choice as it is newer, good breakfast and is well maintained and managed.

X10 on the wild rice stuffed mushrooms!!!! We always stay at the Comfort Suites… not always the cheapest but not the most expensive either. Have fun!
