What an ending to swamp people tonight, a very very good ending. Troy filled his tags,,,with Gator Liz’s help. I think thier final tally is 320 gators for the season, what a heck of a catch. I’ll tell ya what,,,Willys fishing skills are second to none and I’d go fishing with him anytime. And RJ and JPauls season was top notch too, Id go fishing with anyone of these top notch fishermen anytime. Bruces fishing was second to none too. The closest person I can think of even close to these guys is Fishing Machine In Lansing, Anyone second that? I’m hopeing for next years season to be as good as this one.

I can’t say I’m a fan. The fact that they speak “English” and they need subtitles bugs the heck out of me.

That show is awesome even if they have heavy accents. They do stuff none of us would ever have the balls to do. I know i would never pull in a 11ft gator with my bare hands and line. THen have to shoot it in the exact right spot to kill it.

What about the 10 shots 10 gators that was impressive!

I watched too… I also find it interesting, seeing how diverse our country actually is and also how much the same we are. I won’t hold their accent against them (I actually don’t need the subtitles, I can understand them)

Yeah they speak better english than most of the people living in my area. That is one of the only shows besides deadliest catch I will sit down to watch on a nice summer night unless I’m fishing.

I’d rather be fishing! I’m not much of a TV guy.

I’m really a fan of education and the educated. You can tell some of the guys on that show are not smarter than a 5th grader (JR and Willie perhaps).

I won’t take the fact that they appear to be hard workers away from them. They do what they have to to survive and I commend that.

I remember a waitress in Oklahoma that had such a accent we couldn’t understand her, did a great job once she figured out what we wanted..

Accents can be fun to listen too, whether northern MN or elsewhere.

The programs interesting, but got boring after a bit, but I think I’m suffering from reality show overload right now.

    I’m hooked on this show!

These guys are quite the accomplished fisherman in my eyes.

My favorites however are the two brothers, Marshall and Glen. Talk about living off the land, those two eat and shoot just about anything!

I’m a Fishing Machine fan—does that count. I have seen the show a couple times and I really got into it—-those boys have some balls there is no doubt about that. I wonder if James’ show has sub-titles down there and those boys complain about him talking english It is a great country we live in and I am blessed to say that I did get to spend some time in Louisiana fishing and hunting—just nothing at all like they do. It really is a Sportsmans Paradise down there. NOW—when is Fishing Machine going to get her own show—-I would watch that!!!!!

When it comes down to it, I despise ignorance and a lack of common sense much more than I value education. Some of the most educated people in the world don’t have a lick of common sense and are ignorant of how the real world works.

The guys (and lady) on Swamp People are real people. They understand life, they understand nature, and they do it without pretense.

The idiots on Whale Wars, however, have 100 times the education Troy, Willie, Bruce, and the Guist brothers combined, but are so sheltered in their happy little world that they don’t understand how the world works and probably couldn’t find a workable solution to a real world problem if their lives depended on it.

I wish they’d send the idiots from Whale Wars on a crusade to Louisiana to try and stop the Swamp People from hunting gators. I can only guess the outcome would NOT favor the gators or hippies.

I like that to. Takes a smart person to figure out to do what they like to make a living. Working out doors in the wild. Working with family and friends. Staying close to home and your roots. I would pass on a education to do that.

Would also love to have the chance to spend a day in the boat with one of these guys.

Well, I give them hippies credit for at least doing something…even if they are nuts.

Must be good money in gators, some of them live in some pretty nice places, still not a job I’d care to do.

I sort of wish I knew how to link this thread into the next discussion of commercial fishing on the river.
It’s good to know how you all feel about those trying to make a living from what mother nature provides.

I too watch Whale Wars and always root for the whales. (dam japanese researchers ) anyways… I always find it funny that they are talking about choosing to put their life on the line for the whales.. but when they nick their finger or damage some equipment… they are crying and blaming the opposing fleet for their injury/loss

BOB BARKER… BOB BARKER… come on down !!!
