Which resort are you going to on what lake? If you don’t mind me asking.
Can’t help you with 22 though.
July 21, 2011 at 12:42 am #982559There’s a number of very good lakes in that area that are a short tow away, but the chain should keep you busy!
Remember your sunscreen!

If I can make it to the resort! Supposedly the river is over the road on hwy 22 and closed until it goes down. That is the only way to get to the resort, so I guess if I cant get to it I’ll have to stay home and wait until next year.
July 21, 2011 at 1:03 am #982563If it’s over the road, where it has been in years past, I am guessing you will be able to get the Island View, from the north on 22, coming from Hwy 23.
July 21, 2011 at 1:07 am #982565DOT says they closed it at the 22/23 intersection July 15th. We come in from st cloud on 23, drop onto 22 for about a quarter mile (past the public launch) then turn into island view before the bridge. I assume its on the road right by the public ramp in that low area.
Coming in by boat would be an option if there was a place to launch the boat and park the truck/trailer.
July 21, 2011 at 1:10 am #982567Holy Cowola! Man has that area been developed since I was there last!
July 21, 2011 at 1:20 am #982569That’s kinda where I figured…. and from watching the Sauk River (it floods ANTONS right across from where I work) it should be down enough in a couple days I would think.

turning into a party lake I’m afraid. The last few years I’ve been up there I have talked with the locals. Lots of them live in the twin cities and have party houses on the chain so they can ski and tube without the crowd.

You could put in at Cold Spring and run the river via boat to Island View resort. Otherwise you could come in from the south on Hwy 22. If Hwy 22 is closed I would imagine that the access should be open for business, I highly doubt that the river is on the road prior to the public access off 22. You could always launch your boat off co rd 71. the stop light just before you get into Richmond, hang a left and head down that co rd for about 4-5 miles, they have a public access there. Another launch is at Cozy Corners campground (I think that is still the name of it) that is further south on co rd 22 from Island view. Lots of options to get onto the river.
July 21, 2011 at 1:34 am #982574Why not just call the resort? Surely they have other customers dealing with the same thing.

In the plans for tomorrow morning
July 21, 2011 at 1:31 pm #982643Hwy 22 is not closed, there is water up to the road in spots but is not closed. These pics were taken today at the Hwy 22 public access and at the dam in Cold Spring. The flooding is supposed to recede by Monday IF we don’t get any more rain soon.
July 21, 2011 at 2:03 pm #982655Hmmmmmmmmmmm to think i grew up 5 blocks north of there!!! pretty neat pic of the dam in cold spring. one takes that scene for granted seeing that at least twice a day 5 days aweek!!
July 21, 2011 at 5:50 pm #982724Yea those two trucks parked at the access up the the running boards in water is what I call “die hards”!
