I actually like muggy weather, have ever since I was a kid. And yes, I only enjoy it because I can get away from it when I want to into the AC and I don’t work outside.

I have always been a dew point watcher and this weather is something else. An 80 degree dew point is a rarity in any given summer. We have breached it the last 3 days in a row, which is very remarkable.

I can guarantee you this will be one of those events where I can tell you what I was doing those days.

Congratulations are in order for MSP Airport for breaking the old record of 81. And everyone be safe. I don’t want my memories marred by tragedy.

When I was at work today, painting the exterior of a college dorm, A couple people were running by. They stopped and they looked flush and hot. I said theres some water in the fridge, go get some, and run the water from the sink over your arms too cool down. They did and told me when they left thier house it was 99 on thier thermometer just a few minutes befor. They thanked me and off they went.

Yesterday it was more humid, dew points in the high 70’s with the same amount of heat as today. Yesterday and today it was a total roaster and you could only work in the shade, not it the sun. I went inside and wet my head down atleast once an hour, more like every 45 minutes, just to feel a cooler breeze on my neck and head. I filled my styrafoam cup with ice to the top and the rest with water a 1/2 dozen times a a day so I could drink cool water, you had too its so hot. Its a whole lot warmer summer this year then last, hardly any comparison at all between the two. It sure as hell ain’t going to snow anytime soon and thats forsure.

Been a dewpoint watcher for many years myself. If you watched
the news last night, you maybe heard that Madison, MN reached
a dewpoint of 86 yesterday. Well, I was there…working outside. A little ruff. Don’t need no more of that kind of
    history.

Along with the high dew points, which are BRUTAL, they also use a term Heat Index (what your body feels with temp and moisture combined)
and today in Eden Prairie, set an ALL TIME record of 120 degrees (heat index).

    Come on Cold Front…..

Just seen the forcast for today, 97 is what is forcast and they say it may hit 100. I’m going to work this morning as long as I can and probably will take off at noon, its just too hot to work in that heat. Its supposed to cool down to the mid 90’s tomorrow, whoopie. Its supposed to be in the 90’s all week. Eric was going to bring an egg to try to fry it on my flatbeds tailgate, I’ll bring one and see if it will today and if I can get my camera back from my daughter I’ll get a picture and post it.
