I purchased a new Ranger boat and I’m looking to have the numbers painted on the side vs. using stickers.

Any sugestions on someone that is really good at this?

Vinyl letter for me. If they ever get beat up from docks or landings or loading/un-loading it is an easy repair or replace. I would look for a good “sign” guy in your area and give them a call. I have done this with all my boats and until you get up close you can not tell if its painted on or vinyl letters. IMHO

I don’t know if they do boat decals, but I have used Lettertech in the cities for some snowmobile license numbers.

Contact Blue Fleck on here. He’s done nice ones for others.

Letter Tech does very nice boat letter decals.

I would not paint on numbers. They can and do change. not to mention, when you sell the boat the numbers will need to be removed. If I were a buyer, I’d insist the current owner pay for removal. Just because I would want to see the results first!

Curious why they’d need to be removed? (unless registering in a different state)

I bought Ron’s last Ranger with painted on numbers, they’re still in great shape and I didn’t have to change the numbers when I bought it …

I’ve bought several boats where the numbers change. (In state) It’s up to the DNR.

My current boat has painted numbers. They were that way when I bought it. No number change.
