Are you guys listening to Dayton on MPR right now? I listen only because the gov’t is pertinent to me. But listening to Dayton makes you wonder how anybody ever thought “Heck yeah, I’ll vote for Dayton.”

How can you be surprised? These are the same people who voted for a fake wrestler and a comedian. I’m sure when folks heard one of the worst senators in the history of this country was running for governor they couldn’t wait to vote for him.

Somebody’s gotta lighten the mood right? The whole shutdown thing was fun while it lasted, now we all have to pretend to be experts at fishing again.

What I was trying to do!

Brian don’t be calling my friend Jesse Krook a nutjob. He does pretend to like catfishing.

Just wait for the, “I just want the rich to pay their fair share of taxes”, and you will become a fan. You will know why he was elected. Wait for it.

Sorry, but the more I mull it over, the more I believe that his “caving” will be rejected. His big push is $500 bonding bill. He is NEGOTIATING that and a couple other things, but he is framing it like he is accepting the Republicans last offer. Sad thing is, I think Minnesotans won’t see through it and Pat Kessler won’t do a Reality Check on it.

Dayton knows exactly what he’s doing he knows he had NO chance to raise tax’s all along with house and senate controlled by the Repubs. Along with the bonding he’s just trying to save some jobs and Teacher rights at this point which was his goal the whole time.

Seems if he “caved in” it should be a done deal ? Or that he “surrendered” ???? Which is it guys ? Seems to me, if the Rep’s accept…. that will be a cave in, by somes definition ???? I will still call it a compromise, beacuse I am also a realist

He’s not caving or surrendering. He’s pulling off an Evel Knievel stunt and I hope he crashes before he hits the Wisconsin side and becomes catfish bait.

If he is trying to compromise, then he shouldn’t pretend he is saying yes to the Republicans last offer before he went off on a Vacation with the Griswolds.

The republicans will take the deal and strip those items out of the budget. They can alway re-introduce them anytime. They have the votes to do so.

That’s IF they actually call a special session, right? Pull a reverse Chris Christie.

They wont call a special session until/unless there is a deal. The session will last about an hour.

And he still doesn’t think he’s spending too much…..like the rest of them.

I didn’t think Jesse was to bad, for a few months anyway, but I think his ego got in the way.
Who the heck you going to elect though, haven’t seen one that couldn’t resist spending somebody else’s money.

Those elected officals of all parties are not concerned about those who elected them.

Bunch of clowns and they will do whatever thier party leader want.

    Same game, different year.

I say throw the whole lot out and vote in new. Then hope they do not eat the stupid pills before they start thier jobs.

Dayton ran on raising taxes for some.
Republicans ran on holding the line on spending.

Seems they were doing what they were elected to do. The real problem is people electing opposing policy forces.

Think it could have gotten done if they were elected to single terms only? One & done.

Doubt it. In fact, I’d believe it would have the opposite effect. If there is no consequence, there is no reason not to dig your heals in more. I am sure people who didn’t like T-Raw would agree to that. He dug in knowing his Governorship was coming to an end.

I believe they were elected to compromise and work together for the better of the state.

I do not believe that happened.

Oh Tom, you cynic! Can you name one time the politicians have put themselves or party ahead of the good of the state and it’s taxpayers?

I think all represntatives should be summoned from the general population to serve. (Like a trial jury) Same with police officers. If you want the job, you can’t have it!
