I spilled some oil on my boat carpet. I’ve tried Dawn dishwashing soap, and Resolve with no results. Actually seemed to spread it a bit. Any suggestions?

Good luck! I had a quart spill in the trunk of my car several years ago. I scrubbed the heck out of it with Simple Green. It helped, but the stain is still there.

I’ve removed oil & grease stains using a citrus degreaser with excellent results.

Lestoil – I use this every yr and it never fails to remove the harshest of stains that I put in my carpet.

    Good Luck!

Grind oil dry into. Vacuum, then scrub with stiff brush, hot water and Dawn.

Lacquer thinner will remove almost any stain. Try in a inconspicuous spot first. Put on a rag and rub it on the oil spot, use it all the time cleaning car seats and upholstery that is stained.

Laquer thinner is what I use too for the first try. If that dosen’t work use Methol Ethyl keytone but this stuff works too good in some situations. Try it in an area to see if it is too powerful, I’ve seen it lift the coloring right out of linoleum and vinyl. If the coloring in the carpet isn’t real permanent it might lift it, so be careful. Try laquer thinner first.
