So I have a soft spot on my Lund Floor & the carpet is okay but could be replaced. Does anyone have an idea of the cost on something like this? I only need a small part of the wood but considering the whole floor to be recarpeted..I don’t plan on doing it myself either. Just looking for round about numbers here.. And maybe a guy in central MN that does a good job.

if my memory serves me right if you have someone else do it could run about $1500.00. jeffs auto body west of st. cloud out by the suburban racketball club does it. he orders the flooring from the boat manufacturer. i did min myself and thinking ran me about 5-600 bucks. that mighta included the beer too!!!

Hmmm, Maybe I will consider doing it myself… So how complicated was it? And if you had to guess (minus the beer time) how many hours did you have into the carpet portion of the job?

man i cant off hand remember. i have a son-in-law that works with wood for a living so he tore out all the old wood, traced the old part to the new wood and i cut and glued and stapled the carpet to the new wood. my best quess is about 30-35 hours. we did this in the winter in a heated garage over the course of 3 weekends about 5-6 hours at a time. i used treated plywood but have been hearing that the chemical in the treated wood my eat away at alumunum. any othew ?’s fire away. one thing to remember is we tucked the carpet around and under so you have to allow for that when cutting your new piece of wood. it still wouldnt hurt to call jeffs auto and/or others to check costs!

If you are a IDO site member and logged on you can use the search function under the My Home dropdown.
There have been a lot of previous post with the info you are looking for. I have posted to a couple with the info from my having undertaken this task a couple of years back.
I used 1/2″ marine ply (depends on span)
    from Menards on sale
(2 coats of spar varnish both sides)
and carpet from Fleet Farm also on sale
I used the old wood floor as a template for drilling holes and used aluminum rivets from Fastenal
Since I had everything out of the boat I added an 8′ rod locker in the floor and married that to the frame I beam to stiffen up the boat.

I have a ’96 Lund Pro-V and recently undertook the process. I have not finished mine as of yet, because fishing is more important to me than the completed boat. Getting rid of the snow this spring slowed my start and thus I was unable to complete the entire boat before fishing opened. I have replaced my lower floor with 3/4″ marine ply and purchased the gray vinyl from Lund. The floor is sound, thus my early goal reached. I would like to do some work on live well pumps, some electrical and haven’t completely closed the flooring down. Having a solid floor again is GREAT!!!

Oh and the cost for the ply, 2 – 4×8 sheets of 3/4″ and 1 – 4×8 sheet of 1/2″ was under $400 and the vinyl was $14/foot for 19′ at $260… I purchased local in Northern WI, so my pricing might be a little inflated. There was various other sundry items that were purchased like the fasteners and carpet glue remover, drill bits, etc. I have a friend who has done some rigging and am using his expertise for the stuff that I have never done, electrical-wise.
