Looks like some pretty cool stuff right there.

I’m not ready to give up the rest of the year for ice fishing just yet though!

I bought the vz825sd camera last winter and with the flat screen and with no sun visor the only time I could really see a good picture was in a dark shanty. I could not use my camera while sitting in the open even on a cloudy day and it looks like the same video screen on the Lx 7. I would wait to buy one until I saw it on the ice on a bright day. Personly I dont think you will see the graph.

Displaying video on a screen is far different than displaying graphics. Expect the intensity of the display to be the same as what you see from other major manufacturers of open water electronics.

But holding out to see one in action isn’t a bad idea either. I’m quite confident you’ll be impressed.

They do! Every model they make. Though I have not done rigorous bucket-testing on the LX-7 yet, this LX-5 fits two ways – nose-up or nose-down. This bucket was regulation size, I promise!

I usually haul mine nose down although I doubt it matters either way. Pile as much “stuff” on as you want the padded soft pack is up to the task of protecting the flasher and the MarCum flashers take up less overall bucket space than many of the other flashers on the market when mounted in softpacks.

    You guys are hard core!

I carry nothing in my hand but the LX-5. Gently set it on a upside down bucket so not to get the bottom wet. Treating it like a fine piece of technology it is.

It had it’s own space in the closet in my room…which is empty right now…waiting to be filled by it’s big brother.

Compared to the use your ice gear gets each winter, yes, walking with a flasher in a bucket is pretty “hard core.”

Keep in mind we don’t always need ice to use our ice gear.

    Marcum’s VS825sd working hard!

‘Spose that doesn’t count because I didn’t have to drill any holes huh?

…and no, I don’t put my camera in a bucket either!

Now I still need the adjustable legs on the bottom of that carry case so I’m not setting mine on flooded water conditions or on the ice chips and having to scrap frozen ice off the bottom of the unit.

Shoulder strap would be nice, for the solo drill and check for fish. That would save me from having to walk back and forth twice.

BK, I always set mine on an upside down bucket too but maybe it’s just cause I don’t have to bend over so much that way

We’ve picked up a couple coolers that our electronics sit inside. We’ve oversized the coolers slightly so we have a little extra room for tackle, lunch……Very protected and packs neatly inside our otter.

This same cooler can be used to place your electronics on top of if needing to avoid sitting in water.
