I fish the Mississippi north of Little Falls. It seems like the river is going to stay high all summer. Can anyone give me some insight on fishing smallmouth in these conditions? I tried throwing a crankbait last night casting upriver and the current is so fast it is almost impossible to keep the lure below the surface. Thanks Skabordio

    Welcome to IDO.

High water fishing can be a lot of fun once the fish are located, however that might take some time as the high water has now created new eddies, current breaks etc. Areas that once had little/no water are most likely perfect now with high water. Flooded shorelines are typically good as well with over hanging trees or even shade trees during the hot summer days. Good luck as that stretch of river is very fun to fish for smallies.
