    2. Am I still able to purchase a MN fishing license?

No. The sale of all fishing, hunting and trapping licenses, including online and telephone sales, will be suspended as of midnight, June 30. Likewise, no boat, ATV or other licenses will be sold.

All natural resource and license laws will remain in effect during a shutdown and will be enforced.

I don’t know either….??? I will say, most people I hear talking about gov’t and budgets and the mismanagement, say “in my house, if I can’t afford it, I go without”… guess what ??? Were going without and now everybody is screaming bloody murder I only hope we are actually saving money on this shutdown deal…

I’m not familiar with the reason or the scope of the shutdown in Mn as I am a SD resident, all I know is I bought my nonresident license back in April for my annual trip to Rainy Lake in July. Maybe people were waiting till just before their trip to purchase a 7 or 10 day license,I dont know if you can pick your days in advance.I personally buy the season long license just in case I make another trip, cost is about 50 USD. IMHO if you are trying to save 20 or 30 USD by buying a short term license for an out of state trip just before you leave maybe you should rethink taking the trip at all: gas ,lodging, bait, all these things cost a ton more than a license. Just my .02

If you don’t realize, you are paying to take care of the bison, then I certainly won’t try to teach you anything here…

tried to go on line but no deal goes strait to shutdown, if any ideas would be apreciated. would have bought sooner but plans have been up and down. lodge says if they can’t sell liesence’s shouldn’t enforce law. lodge just called back and said we’d fish canada. problem solved

Is there a predicted “grand reopening” for the MN government??

Being a WI resident, I was considering either going to Rainy for a weekend this fall or going to Chequamegon Bay… If I can’t buy a license by the time I try to plan this trip out, that makes my choice pretty simple. I can’t imagine the resort owners, convenience store owners, MN guides, etc. are very excited about this shut down. Those last minute and spur-of-the-moment trips will basically be nonexistant if guys can’t buy a license. Which means way less revinue for the state/business owners.

I’m no expert but I’d wager it doesn’t last long. Both side will let it go through the weekend, maybe for a week so they can gather ammunition for their campaigns to blame the other side for it happening, then operation ‘save face’ will get a budget in line and both will try to take credit to opening the gov’t back up.

I might be wrong but I’d bet you’ll be able to purchase a lic. again in 2 weeks or less, 3 tops.
