Electric Filet Knife Storage

I have a Rapala electric knife, the one that runs on DC but comes with the AC Converter and aligator clips. I don’t mind the knife, but I have hated the storage case from the start. If you don’t get the cords perfect, it wont close and they didn’t leave any room for error. Needless to say it makes it really difficult after the beers required to filet fish. So I set out to find a better solution. Here is what I came up with. It’s the deep 3700 series Plano waterproof box with the supplied dividers. I just notched the dviders to hold the blades and the rest fit nicely. I gave it a couple shots of hot glue to hold the dividers permanently in place. The best part is that it’s water proof so I don’t need to worry about where I leave it. This will work with any electric, but its really nice for the ones that have the bulky converter also. Just thought I would throw it out there in case it helped anyone else out with the same knife.

I should add, I checked the non-water proof “normal” 2…” deep Plano 3700 series and they weren’t quite deep enough. The water proof one is perfect. Deep enough, but not so deep that it rattles around in it. The model is 3741.

Awesome thanks. I was just using mine last night and looking for the parts because they did not get put away the last time . I’ll have to go get one of these boxes!

You are correct, these are a pain to put back into the original case!

    Thanks
