Had my car stolen from my driveway yesterday morning! As if that isn’t bad enough, the garage door opener was in the car! Think I am going to sit in the garage with the door open and light off and crow bar in hand for a few nights to see if these piece of **** Motherfer’s come back, and I really really hope they do.

That sucks. Now you do have that to worry about. It’s amazing how dumb some people are. We had our autos broken into in the driveway one night.

I’m assuming it was kids as the garage door openers were in the cars and they did not open the door and help themselves to the contents in the garage.

Hopefully it all works out for you. It’s a crappy feeling.

    That sucks .

This is situation where a On-Star or other GPS locater system would come in very handy. Thinking about one of them for mine.

It’s an AUDI A6 Brownish green, from Burnsville Plate # is PWC 754. If you see it, don’t call the cops, call me. 952-992-9423. Thanks. According the the cop that took the report there has been a lot of cars stolen from the Burnsville area lately, and found in St. Paul somewhere.

Had a work truck of mine stolen a few years back. Make sure and do something with your garage door opener. If you car was stolen by someone that does this for a living they will be back. They guy that stole mine new exactly what he was doing and things happened very fast. Truck stolen in the morning, graphics taken off next, to the scrap yards by noon, tools gone to, and checks that where in the truck started showing up at different banks around town with a number of people trying to cash them with in 2 days. 48hrs after having the truck stolen, it was found wrapped around a tree in south MPLS totaled and cleaned out. Not bad for a 6 month old van.

They did catch the guy that stole it. He got maybe 60 days in jail. That was the time from being caught to trial. And also 3 years probation and $150 in restitution he owed me. I was told I would need to hire a attorney to go after him for it. His sheet showed at least a dozen vehicles that he had stolen in Hennipen county. I was told he was most active in Anoka county where mine was stolen.

It sucks but I guess its just the world we live in. I got a real eye opener thinking the police or legal system was going to do something about what had happened. Stuff like this was very low on there priority list. I was told that vehicles with GPS tracking may be looked for but at that time MPLS only had one vehicle equipped with a tracking system and it was pretty busy. Vehicles with out GPS basically are not looked for. The one question I was asked over and over was “you have insurance” and thing s where pretty much left at that.

Make sure and protect yourself from any further damage from these people. Get that garage door taken care of quickly. Make sure there was nothing else in the vehicle that they can use to gain access to your home, business or personal info.

I had a new car stolen out of my driveway a number of years ago too – by three local teenages. They took it on a cruse and destroyed the tranny. They all got caught in the car after they drove by my house again while the cops were standing in the dirveway with me (very stupid thing to do!). They had it for about 2 hours though.
I got the car back and then had to pay for the tranny fix to the tune of $600.00. The only thing that happend to the three kids is that they were ordered to write me an “I’m sorry” letter (as directed by the judge). No juvy record either. They were also caught drinking beer and smoking pot while driving in the car too. Those issues were dropped altogether. None of the parents ever made contact to offer to pay to fix anything either.
IMHO – This is why a lot of kids feel they can do anything they like. No parent retribution and no judicial system for punishment.
….I know what my old-man would’ve done to me. That alone would’ve been worse than any Judges orders. He!!, I’d rather go to jail than face him after something like that.

Got the car back on Saturday morning from the Minneapolis impound lot. GROSS!!! Turns out that the guy that was driving (Lives in Burnsville, from Chicago) was not the one that stole the car, as he was in Jail already that night. But he was quick to rat out his brother, who lives (Lives in Burnsville, from Chicago 2 blocks away)
