The circus that is the NBA play-offs had a great outcome last night. The self appointed King James laid another egg in game 5 and the Heat trail Dallas 3 games to 2.

Nothing concerning the NBA would make me happier then to see the Heat go down in this series. (Well maybe the Wolves moving would make me as happy)

All I heard one the radio this morning is that James choked again, is anybody watching on TV?

I did not watch last night but have watched 3 games in this series. The intensity has been pretty good which is abnormal from the rest of the NBA season.

I’d like to see the big three go down, but to me this is theatrics waiting to play out in Miami. Down 3-2, James pulls out games 6 and 7.

Better ratings, better drama. If you buy into it.

A triple double is far from a choke. I want Dallas to win, but the Heat simply got beat by great shooting last night. It’s the first time they all really lit it up. It’s pretty hard to put this loss on any one player in my opinion. All that said, I don’t feel bad for James. He brought this on to himself.

Fast forward 6-7 years, assume James still doesn’t have a title. He would have to be the greatest player in NBA history not to win one??

I’m such a Jordan rube that I root against anyone who could possibly match his legacy which explains why I dislike Kobe so much.

Lebron didn’t choke because you have to shoot to choke. the guy haasn’t taken any shots in the 4th quarter in this series. i don’t understand that when a 38 year old slow white guy is gaurding you why you would ever pass?? time to dominate. Jordan would have takedn over those games and would have been a laugher series. the comparison is a joke. Lebron is talented, do doubt, but will to win and dominate the oppponent he does not have. We all want to see Jordan again and Lebron just isn’t that guy. I wonder if we labeled him a point guard like we did Magic, would be expect the same? Lebron had a Magic-type game last night but we do not want Magic we want Jordan.

I tune out the NBA updates usually, but I have heard enough to know I want the Heat to go down. But my guess us James is easier to market than Nowitzki. Miami is a bigger market than Dallas (IDK).

My guess is the NBA brass wants Miami to win and a come behind after being down 3-2 is even better than a sweep would have been. Look for a lot of calls to go Miami’s way the rest of the series.

I think the last time I watched a NBA playoff game was when the NBA brass wanted NY to win. They were down in the final minute. The refs let Ewing mug a player on a lay up. He then took it down a scored, plus got a foul call when the guy never touched him.

The only thing worth watching with the NBA is the replays of the fights where these guys swing like a couple 6th grade girls on the playground.

I’ll also say that if the Timberwolves won a title, I wouldn’t celebrate or even watch a game.

Yeah, I am an NBA hater.

They ruined the game when they gave players the extra step. They can basiscally start from the 3 point line and never dribble before dunking….. makes no sense.

The NBA still exists? I thought they went the way of the XFL.

Didn’t watch it live(and never will). Sportcenter had a long highlight deal where they showed how awesome Labron and Wade played… but lost. Not a real sport.

I started watching the NBA a lot more this year again. There is a lot more parody in the league, and most of the me first players are gone. Allen Iverson is gone, you don’t hear too much about Ron Artest etc…

This year, it seems like the teams went back to playing Defense. There are some great young teams all of a sudden again. Chicago, OKC etc…. I think this finals series has been great, and it’s good for ratings to have a “Yankees” type team. It gives a lot of people somebody to root against. As a basketball fan, I wanted to see Chicago and OKC in the finals, but this one has turned out really well so far.

I could knock hockey since I don’t watch it, but I don’t know enough about it so I won’t.

At least the XFL marketed themselves as entertainment more then serious sports.

The NBA and Stern still see themselves as a “sport” similar to the NFL and MLB which couldn’t be farther from the truth.

I did see the Wolves cheerleaders on a calender or something once. I would pay to see them, but only if the Timber wolves promised not to show up.

Teams like the Heat are why many people don’t like the NBA. I don’t watch any of it until the Conf. Finals and then the finals. This is the time when you see the guys playing defense and actual strategy in place.

James is playing fine, for an good player. The problem is that he is a great player that’s not playing up to his potential. I keep hearing James’ words from before the season…something like “now winning the games will be the easy part”.

Go Mavs. I love to watch the big dogs go down! With that said. D Wade is a class act and a stud of a player. The kid is laying it out there every second of every minute.

It’s another case of drama to sell more tickets… Heat going home, win game 6 and now the real game will be on game 7. I’m for the Mav’s but think James just had a bad game and will be heard from before its over. My 2 cents.

WAY TOO MANY TIME OUTS! The NBA game is not fun to watch, I also firmly believe it is a very crooked league!

Not much of a fan of the NBA either, although during the NBA finals it can be somewhat entertaining because they actually play to their potential. Anyways, yeah LeBron is laying an egg. Game after game! . 11 Points in 5 games during the 4th quarter. That’s ridiculous for having to NBA MVP trophies..

A triple double is hardly a bad game….actually come to think of it he’s only had one bad game in his entire young play-off career.

I sure hope Dallas can steal one of these two games because if they don’t Lebron and Miami are going to run off about 5 titles in row

    It’s been a great series!

I agree!!! As a high school (HS) official, the NBA has never been the same and now college and HS are going the same way!!! Write the rule with three steps, I’m in, leave the rule the same and then call it. I’ve been to camps where the mantra is if doesn’t affect the play let it go…
WELL WHERE DO WE AS OFFICIALS HAVE THAT KIND OF CRYSTAL BALL!!! Any call let go affects the game, period!!!

Maybe they should make it like hockey or rugby and give advantage.

teams have been playing defense for the last 5 or 6 years. the nba has gotten real good again. minnesota hasn’t so i understand the disinterest. lol. these playoffs were a great display of the level of competition that the nba has to offer. i suspect their viewership will grow because of it.

lebron is an entity that was created by the media along with a handful of bad decisions by lebron. its funny to wath the media build it up and then subsequently tear it down in regards to lebron.

all the jordan comparisons are pretty [censored]. why? he isn’t the same type of player. he’s never been. also? jordan’s legacy came into its prime when he was 28. 2 years older than lebron is now. let his next 13 years of play determine where he belongs in the lists.

dirk is one of the greatest 7 footers to play the game.

lebron is a distributing machine. his vision is nashesque. and being so big, hes a shoe in for a ton of rebounds. the problem with a trip double is he’s not scoring and he’s not moving without the ball.

when you avg 26 pts a game in season and during the first 3 series of the playoffs but only average 17 in the finals? you had some bad games offensively.

What a series. I was not that excited about Boston getting there, but they have been fun to watch.

What a series. There are so many subplots that it is hard to remember all of them. And now it is all down to 1 game. The biggest question is, will Lou continue his great play at home and once again put another embarrassing performance behind him? Will he deliver for the cup starved fans of Vancity? My money is on no.

And quite frankly that is the most intriguing outcome. Boston beats Vancouver after the city has followed the team with the best record in the NHL all year. All year only to see Luongo choke.
