MinnKota 55PD Slow to Turn?

I need a little help…my minnkota 55pd turns very slow to the starboard(right)when under power. Of course it turns even slower as the speed is turned up and as battery power is used through the day. It’s the 2003 model if that helps. Also I put in a new 29 series battery also. Thanks!

EVEN though you say your battery is new , I would suspect the battery is NOT up to par or enuff battery left after an all day outing.

See if you can borrow a battery and retest.

I JUST got done installing 2 29’s in my boat to NOT run short of battery on my PD55 V2 .

Let us know what you come up with.

Have you felt for hot wires/connections. Bet something isn’t up to snuff.

had a question, but after I thought about it, it may be stupid… any wiring binding?

I have the same problem. Mine is the same year and 55lb thrust. The only thing is mine turns slow to the left, but normal speed to the right. I don’t see any cables binding. I also don’t think it is a battery issue. The only thing I haven’t tried is a new foot pedal. That might be next on my list.

Do you have co-pilot? I had problems with the same motor but with co-pilot I could easily see the problem was with the foot control unit as it worked fine and they exchanged my foot switch over the counter in mankato with a new one no charge on the spot.I love buying from reputable companies that stand behind thier product!
