I wired two depth finders and a GPS unit to my starting battery. Should I have done that or should I wired them to my the Deep Cycle trolling battery?

IF you have a fuse board with an on off switch that has open spots would have been a better place, since you went straigt to the battery, did you put an inline fuse in them, this will help stop any electrical damage to your units.
    good luck fishing!!!

Probably no difference. The machines are sensitive to voltage drop (as per the readout on your screen…)

The voltage drops as the battery discharges (yes, i do realize this is not supposed to happen theoretically, but it does)

So, people tend to NOT wire to trolling motor batteries as they usually are NOT being recharged, while the starting motor is.

Other people do not want ANY draw on their starting motor (I’m one of these guys), so always wire to the trolling motor, feeling that all the gizmos may go down, but at least we will still get home…

Also, if you are going to put a fuse in the circuit, put in a ‘Fast’ fuse rather than a ‘Slow’ fuse as lightening in the neighborhood is your biggest enemy. Will fry machines.

    Any of that help??

Yes I wired in line fuses to all units.
