I am fishing the FLW Tour event as a co angler in Green Bay WI in July, I spoke with the FLW today and I was informed that I need both a Wisconsin and Michigan Fishing License, we take off from Breakwater Marina in Oconto, WI. I already have a WI fishing License but I found it odd that I was required to carry both states, can someone confirm that I need to carry a license in both states to fish this body of water?

    Thanks,

    Joey

My guess would be that if the pro decides to run to MI waters, then you’d both need a lisence. Have a very good freind that has fished it many times and will also be fishing the FLW. I’d be happy to ask him next time I talk with him. He;s currently up at AIM Bay mills tournament pre fishing but should talk over the weeend. I’ll ask his thoughts

    Joe,

If the pro you fish with decides to go north past the state line, you will definitely need the Michigan license.

The boundary line comes right out from the middle of the Menominee River.

Since it is pretty much impossible to predict where the pro you fish with is going to go, it sounds like a good idea to have both Wisconsin & Michigan fishing licenses on hand.

Oconto is not that far away from the State line and on Green Bay, it certainly is not unheard of for pro’s to run 20, 30 or more miles in any direction if they find good fish somewhere.

    Joe:

I don’t know if they went up , but I think a daily is $7 and the annual is $50??? I bought the Annual Non-Res the last two years, you would think I would know that one…
