So last night i was over at the girl friends house, and we went to the drive in movie theater. and some time between the time we left 730 to the time we got back, or the time i woke not sure what one for sure, some one had attemped to break into my car. The bad part about it is that they live 2 blocks from a school, the cops parol it every 15 mins or so, and he parents where up all night but it was parked out of veiw of the window. So not i have 3 of my doors messed up and idk why the person did not try the 4th door must have learn that by not getting the 3 there was no sense to try the forth. And for what, a 130$ guide series Rod and real combo i had sitting in my back seat. Really people i wish i knew who did it cuz i would be breaking some knee caps and hands. sorry for a long post but need to vent been a long week with school. But has any one had a car that was attemped to be broke into, dose insurance cover the cost to get the doors fixed. o and going tomorrow to give a report to the cops.

Yes, your insurance should cover that depending on what coverage and deductable you have.
Call your agent and he will let you know what is covered and for how much.
If you have not called the police and had a report made out, do that as the insurance will want that done.
That really stinks.
I just do not leave anything in my truck in sight any longer.
My GPS and Tom-Tom are put away and out of view when I park the truck or tat would be missing along with a window.
Good luck with your insurance.
May 22, 2011 at 5:36 am #967950I feel your pain. Sorry it happened.
I did have my Mazda truck broken into when I had an apartment in Elk River quite a while ago. The passenger window was shattered, when I got into it to go to work, I saw shiny particles on the seat and floor, turned on the overhead light, and saw that it was the side window.
I didn’t have anything of real value in there (I thought)so nothing was missing. I called work and the police. Later when I was going through the (unlocked) glove compartment I found an envelope at the very bottom of my maps and papers that had $2,000 in cash in it. I had totally forgotten when I put that in there, but if the thief had found it, I never would have missed it. Never did that again, I got off lucky that time. Lesson learned.

May 22, 2011 at 1:25 pm #967970How does one forget he put $2000 in their glovebox????? Might have lots of other money stashed all over his place. And your address is?? LOL.
May 22, 2011 at 2:40 pm #967982in 2008 When I was moving my then girlfriend now wife into an apartment in minneapolis someone broke out my jeep window to steal two suitcases and my CD player a 2 in the afternoon 5 blocks from a police station. 90% of my wifes clothes were in those suitcases. worst part was two weeks before I decreased my insurance to liability. Luckily my renters insurance covered the clothes, and luggage, about 3000$. the window and cd player were on me.
sandmanndPosts: 928May 22, 2011 at 3:47 pm #967997That just plain sucks. I’ve had a truck broke into years ago and it’s no fun. Last year, someone broke into my boat and walked off with rods, tackle and HD5. Insurance covers these things. But it’s still a pain in the arse.

May 24, 2011 at 12:46 pm #968513All this is a good reminder to check what you have and have not covered.
I had a pretty spendy stereo system in the previous truck and it got stolen, truck insurance didn’t cover it.
Wonderful world, be nice to catch the sob’s but then you’d end up getting charged for something.
