I’ve been fishing Winnie pretty much exclusively for the last 5 years. Last weekend was one of the best weekends of fishing in those 5 years. We hammered Walleyes on just about everything we threw at them – jigs with shiners, jigs with fatheads, rigs with leeches, rigs with shiners, slip bobbers, crank baits. Fished in front of Highbanks and Tamarack Bay all weekend. Threw back many slot fish, caught many jumbos and a few gators to boot.

Headed back up over the holiday for 9 days. Cant wait!

Great report. Ive heard the same. A co-workers spouse went up last night and was on the water at 5:00. He launched below the Winnie dam. He and 3 others had limits by 8:00 and threw back fish up to 27 inches. Might have to make a stop when I’m up next weekend.

Internet service on my phone is bad up here but we got them good today. Anywhere from 6-10 feet on jigs and shiners. Colors on jigs didn’t hadly matter. All sizes of fish too. Its always fun up here.

Roger that! As much as I hate the drive it’s so worth it.
