    To my Dearest Friends;

As I sit down to pen this letter my mind can’t help but wander to thoughts and memories of all the great friends I’ve made and moments experienced during my time as manager of Everts Resort. All the smiling faces, kind gestures and fish stories shared with those that frequented Everts Resort made each and every day a blessing and the time I’ve spent immersed in the beauty and solitude of the big river ever present out my front door will remain my cherished memories forever.

At this time I would like to announce that I have resigned my position as manager at Evert’s Resort. This has been a very difficult decision as my time spent managing Everts Resort is and always will be a very special part of my life. I have often said, “visitors to Everts Resort aren’t customers, they are my friends & family!” I feel very fortunate to have had the opportunity to get to know so many wonderful people and it has been my sincerest pleasure to have played a part, albeit a small one, in helping to ensure that time spent on the water was enjoyed to the fullest.

At this time I am not certain of what or where my future will lead but everyone can count on me landing on my feet well rested and ready to run in the very near future. In the short-term I do plan on taking some time off to get some much needed R&R, work on my website, and back to fishing again very soon.

Should anyone wish to contact me please note that I will no longer be using the “Everts Resort” user account here on IDO now that my resignation has been announced. Do know that I plan to be back online here in the future. For now know that I can be reached at [email protected]

Thank you… and my best to all.

    Sincerely,

    Dean Marshall

You better get that website in order Dean. I for one will be making my fishing purchases there.

To me you were everything that was positive about Evert’s.

    Dean,

That was a very nice post. I know you could have dwelled on some of the problems associated with your leaving, but taking the “high road” with your post shows your extraordinary integrity. Your helping out fishermen and giving advice at fishing clubs will always be remembered.

Good luck on what ever is in place for your future.

Sorry to hear about your leaving Everts. The resort has some huge shoes to fill with your departure. Hopefully this will lead only to bigger and better opportunities for you down the road. You always made it a pleasure to launch the boat and fish pool 4. Thanks Dean.

Dean a huge thanks goes out to you for everything you have done for us in the past. Please stay in touch and good luck with everything.

I’m sure I speak for many IDO members when I say this but this has been a very hard time on us resort visitors as well. Evert’s Resort will never be the same without you behind the counter Dean, and no one will be able to care for the resort and its visitors like you have over the years.

I wish you the best of luck in your future endeavors Dean, and I hope we still have a chance to do business with you in the fishing industry in some form. Your enthusiasm for the sport and willingness to help other anglers is something that’s carried your business a long way, and will continue to do so.

Dean – sorry to hear Evert’s Resort is losing it’s finest asset! Your help was greatly appreciated by me and the entire Madison gang I’m sure.

Thanks again for all you’ve done to help put us on fish and for making our experience at Evert’s Resort an enjoyable and memorable trip.

I hope your next endeavor brings you great pleasure, success and personal satisfaction.

p.s. – if there is ever anything I can do for you, don’t hesitate to give me a holler. I’d be happy to help you out anyway possible.

Good luck buddy. As stated by others, you made the trip worth it. We could’ve launched anywhere, but the level of customer service and BS-ing we got at Everts made the trip worth it.

Thank you for everything you’ve done for us. I would expect that website to be pretty busy. Good luck.

Well I don’t know if I should be saying congrats on some well deserved time off, and the opportunity you will find for something new. OR If I should say I’m sorry to hear about this.

Either way I do know this. I’m sorry I never got down to visit and launch out of Everts while you were there. However thank you for all your help and the shipments of all requested goods to my door. You will be missed from Everts I know.

Hope you enjoy some time on the water.

    Dean,

I want to wish you the very best of luck and let you know that we have been thinking about you these past several weeks.

It is sad to see you leave Evert’s as YOU made the experience and the customer service that so many of us enjoyed.

Thanks for everything you gave to so many

    Deano,

As I sat here reading this and I even knew it was coming I can’t imagine the emotional roller coaster you went through with writing this and resigning at Evert’s. I can honestly say you made a big part of learning how to fish the river easier with all your help! I also want to thank you for hiring me when I needed somethiing to do while laid off. It brought me closer to a bunch of GREAT people I met through you and the resort. I made many friends and the things I learned talking to all these different people are “PRICELESS”! I am happy to say yo have become one of my best friends and I am one of the lucky ones who gets to spend some of that little free time you get with you! Thanks Dean for being such a great guy and always figuring out what was it I NEEDED for my tackle box even though I didn’t know I needed it! I know you will land on your feet with whatever you do. If you need anything as always you know how to reach me! Enjoy a little r and r you deserve it buddy! I LOVE YOU MAN!

    Long live the “ONE EYE”!
