About what I expect from them…
Was just telling the wife how I told the fella at the reel counter in Rogers I wanted power cranks for 4 of my Cabelas line counters. He suggested I call to 800 # and they might be able to help.
I thanked him for doing his job.
Their service has typicaly been lousey and I do less and less shopping there. -Mark
I don’t like to bash Cabela’s, but they seem to be getting worse every year. Lot’s of dumb rules. Their prices arn’t nearly as competative as they used to be. The check out lines are horible. Lately I’ve had a lot of success shopping on line at Reed’s.
I still love Cabela’s online shopping.
Never any issues for me at all and I do quite a bit of business with them.
I do all my shopping with Cabelas online. I google the free shipping codes to save on that, and the product is usually at my door in 2-3 business days.
Beats burning gas driving to Rogers and wasting half my day fighting crowds or waiting in line.
I, for one, am having no problem bashing cabela’s these days. I won’t get started, but the Kearney, NE store is the absolute worst.
The last guide on my rod disappeared while crappie fishing a month ago. I took it into the store to get a new one. Turns out, they no longer carry them at this store. So he proceeds to take out a tip top and hold it where the guide used to be to see if it would work.
Ya. That actually happened.
went to the one in rogers last weekend to pick up a few new flathead reels and i ask the guy at the reel counter for a couple abu garcia 7001i’s, he proceeds to tell me abu doesnt make these in a left hand reel. bulderdash i say i seen them online and they do make them now and he continues to tell me they dont make them. then he proceeded to try and sell me some record 60s.
COME ON cabelas get your s*** strait

Same here
Looking through one of there catalogs a couple years ago.. found the same item with same discription and item number on different pages…. one was $10 more. Do it get to pick my price when ordering??????
Maybe they have gotten too big for there boots and started to forget there core. I generally have found Cabelas pricey in there retail stores but if you are patient and shop at the correct times the bargains are there. Speaking of bargains the “bargain cave” is generally someone elses used junk they did not want marked down 10%. A bargain not so much…
Prairie Du Chien Cabela’s has been nothing but good to me. I do my research for a product on line first before making a purchase. Shop smart! I also like to order from there on line store.
As for the Bargian Cave, I have saved some good ching keeping an eye on it. Not long ago I purchased a $130 Redington fly rod for $50. Junk, I don’t think so. Just a discontinued model that I have no problem using
I guess the box stores are always going to take a bashing from some but it’s funny how many keep returning
Wow…anyone ever had a good expierence with Cabelas? It has been nothing but good for me at the Rogers store. Remember a lot of the employees don’t have as much fishing knowledge as we do…so don’t take it out on them, ask for a manager.

So did it fit
I order online with cabelas and have never had an issue with them. Maybe they like us kids!
I shop online mostly and have had great service and fast delivery usally in 3 days.I own some of there stock and it’s been making some cash for me. Also I use there credit card and saving points up for a new boat LOL .
As I often have to remind my wife when they forget to give her a straw at the drive-thru. Try to remember what these guys get paid and what they have to do on Saturday and Sunday. You cant expect many diehard fisherman to be giving you service there. I shop online when possible.
If you like the big box there is always Gander if your not happy with Cabelas.
Reeds and Thorne seem to be good places for service and experience.

Haha….very funny…
My comments were purely directed at the Kearney store. I agree, it’s hard for them to get decent help at times, but this was just ridiculous. I’ve been to many other Cabela’s stores, and they are way different than the Kearney store. Ordering online and having it shipped to the store sure is a nice option to have though, and I do use that.
That’s why I love shopping on-line at gander, free shipping and handling.
No store can keep all happy all the time but Cabela’s does a fine job with me.
I have been a fan forever and I tried Gander but the stores seem to always be missing what I am looking for.
