Right Back at You Neighbor

we got new neighbors a couple weeks ago, the house has been sitting empty for about a year now, so things have been pretty quiet. Noticed the alley between the houses had about 100 cigarette butts laying around, and thought “who’s the dumbazz” Next day wife says we have to talk to the new neighbor about throwing their cigarette butts into the alley. I was out getting some stuff picked up and noticed the butts blew right into the driveway and up next to the back door So I went around and picked up a couple handfuls and trew them back into their yard, never introduced myself to the neighbor properly, but he came storming out the door and yelled “excuse me! Did you just throw something in my yard?” I said that I was tired of cleaning up someone elses butts, and noticed they were blowing out of his yard into the alley, so I was just putting them back were they came from. He said they were just getting settled in and were going to put some sort of container by the back door. I noticed there was a 5 gallon bucket next to the door and told him I would be happy to give him a new pail, and left it at that. To date not many new butts laying around. But this guys deserves no housewarming baked goods from me.

I guess i am blessed then, because my neighbors are great! there are plenty of beers that are drank with them whenever people are out. and we all help each other out when it comes to clean up, snow removal, working on things etc.

and regarding dogs – one of my neighbors, his dog used to bark at mine from across the fence, now he just jumps then fence, plays for a while, and jumps back over…

My neighbors on both sides are really good. We have the nosy retired lady on one side and her daughter and kids. Yeah, they are a little nosy, which my GF pointed out. I haven’t the heart to tell her it is in the nature of woman.

The other side is a young kid. When the power was out, he brought over extra coolers and asked if we needed any. When he has parties, he lets us know. He always says if it gets too loud to tell him, but it never is loud. I think he actually jams in the basement once in a while and we can barely hear that.

The neighbors across the street are resting in peace.
