Right Back at You Neighbor

The house behind us maybe mows once a month or on special occasions when they have people over. Yesterday was one of those evening.

This guy took out his leaf blower and instead of blowing them into a pile and bagging them, blew all the leaves, from his cottonwood I might add, to the edges of his lawn.

Well I was mowing yesterday and saw he blew the fricken leaves right through the chain links and into my yard. So what did I do? I took off the mulch guard and faced it at their yard when I mowed back there. I am surprised what a great job it did pushing the leaves right back at them.

I figure, if it is ok to blow your leaves onto my lawn, it is ok for me to blow them right back at your lazy arse.

I should get some pictures, it is pretty funny.

Now I have to go get some fence weave. We want to block out as much as the long grass as possible and harder to push leaves onto my lawn.

Tough to sometimes have great neighbors.

I have one who thinks it is ok for his dog to use my yard as the bathroom. Well, I scoop it up and throw it on his steps to the front of his house.

He continued to let his dogs do it so I had no choice but to call he police. He also lets his dogs run through my garden and says nothing to correct this.

Sad but the dogs are not the problem, it’s my ignorant neighbor.

No problem anymore. He sticks his nose up at me as I called the town cops but that is ok as I do not have to clean up his dogs mess anymore either.

I sometimes wonder what some people think when they do stuff like this.

The problem is, they don’t think. Been there. And it’s funny how when you get after them they try to make you out as the “bad guy.”

The key word there is “think”….because those people aren’t doing it. I told my neighbor the next time his dog leaves a deposit in my yard and my kids step in it he’ll be washing if off the side of his house.

My Parents caught their neighbor dumping huge piles of leaves and sticks on their side of the fence last summer. That happened once. After a very quick and straightforward conversation that mess was cleaned up. For the life of me I can’t believe how lazy people can be.

Pug, you can pick your friends but NOT your neighbors.

Had one like that once and when they went away once we stack his yard a foot deep or better with leaves .

Never had the issue again, I think the guy is still mad at me and that was 15-16 years ago.

I picked my neighbors… they are 100 yards away through the woods.. if they wanna blow their leaves through the woods into my yard, more power to em

I knew of a guy who had a German Shorthair that kept crapping in the neighbors yard.
The neighbor got fed up and took the crap and “washed” the dog owners home windows one evening, when everyone was in bed.

Funny thing is……..That dog now craps in his own yard!

Ahhh yes….neighbors. I’m SO glad I no longer have any. When I lived in town, I had the most ignorant, but even more importantly, inconsiderate, neighbors you could ever have. I do NOT miss those days…but it sure is fun to read about you guys gettin back at em…

If you have an issue with a neighbor, why not go talk to him/her? Obviously, if that fails more than once or twice it’s a different situation.

Before this we probably wouldn’t have minded them if they kept up their yard and the lady wasn’t so obnoxious with her ear bleeding laugh when they have people over.

I got the fence weave at $20 a box. I bought fricken 5, but I think I need one more. Sad to think I need to spend over $100 so we don’t have to look at their yard and keep their stuff on their side of the lawn. Plus, hopefully it keeps our dogs from barking when they have their loopy friends over.

Another clue to their laziness is in the summer with the windows open they hit snooze for 2 hours.

Now I am the last guy to complain about about someone’s laziness, but come on. Grow up.

Talked to mine twice, then put the dump on his steps, still did not make a difference.

Then the police were called. I should not have had to even tell him his dogs were going in my yard when numerous times he watched them and did not say one word to the dogs.

I’m just glad I don’t have a family of Bumpusses next to me. Man I would hate to have a pack of dogs take my thanksgiving turkey,

I have a winner also. Short version, 70 year old woman with a gardner. (not a very intelligent one at that). Anyhow while he was trying to squeeze between the bushes on her side of the property line and my small 14 foot fishing boat he gets mad and shoves my boat off the trailer breaking the tie downs on the cover and almost putting a hole in the boat bottom. The cover was only a month old. He denied doing it and then said my boat was over the property line, like it was his responsibilty. Least say we had some serious words at this point and the police were called. Before they got there he left to go home so they talked to the old woman, She said he did not work for her anymore and did not have a phone number or address for this idiot ( he still works there). Well we have some more problems, someone uh stole the covers off the trailer light on my utility trailer that was facing her property. again police were called and again said my trailer was over the property lin. So 300 bucks later and a professionl survey company The lot is now marked. Funny how her lanscaping was on my side of the property line. It is well defined by a wire now with keep out signs attached facing there direction. The feud has mellowed but is still not over. I can be the best neighbor you ever had but treat me like sh#$ and I will be your worst nightmare. Love the rest of my neighbors we all get along great. Good luck with yours , always one in the neighborhood

My new neighbors were warned several times even before they moved here that the ‘ogre’ on the hill won’t put up with dogs or cats and the poop and pee that comes out of them in my yard. The women of the family didn’t heed the warning and allowed their five ankle biters and lab to run where they wanted. After several warnings that I will shoot any or all of their dogs when I catch them in the yard, I nailed one. That’s all it took———-for a while. They built a kennel to put them in when it was potty time. But after so many weeks of potty time and they being too lazy to clean the kennel, which is full of poops and pees and every time the dogs got turned out into it they tracked much of it back into the house, they now let them run in the yard again. And sooooooooooooooo it’s time to you know what.
It’s nice to live in the country where you don’t have to call the cops at every little whipstitch.

1/2 oz of oust mixed with 20 gallons of water and apply at a rate of 15 gallons per acre. His grass won’t grow from April til about Sept. (if by then)

Talk to him? And say what, would you please not be a moron and blow your leaves through the fence onto my property and bag them like an adult? From my experience, nothing good can come of this. It will only escalate things and leave a cloud hanging over the neighborhood.

I returned the leaves to the rightful owner and am putting in fence weave. Problem solved.

Randy, believe it or not I have no problem with the man of the house. He’s been great. He doesn’t like the dogs either. He just puts up with it.
And he never said a word when the one got a bullet. Just buried it at the edge of the bluff. If it hadn’t been for the women, I think he’d have just tossed it over the bluff.

You are lucky then. When it comes to the law you have to be careful with pets because they are property. Then again, it is different in the boonies.

Lucky maybe. As long as the bullet doesn’t leave my property I’m legal. Same way when I lived in town.
Pet or no, they are destroying property and possibly threatening. I have grand daughters visiting and I don’t want they to be harmed or the chance to occur thereof. My son has had labs since he was 13 and he trained them well. They never ever got less than 20ft from any of my property lines and they don’t even live here. Not sure how he does it. But he’s good

I hear ya. I am just saying I once told the city animal control that I was going to live trap the cats and bring them to a shelter and he said, “Be careful because pets are considered property”. My thought was, “Well if he parked his car in my driveway, couldn’t I have it towed at his expense”?

I guess we’re blessed, We love our neighbors. Did have a run in at our old house though. I was installing a privacy fence, following city code to a tee, and my neighbor comes out screaming & hollering, cursing & cussing about it being on his property. We didn’t talk for a week. Eventually I had my brother in-law, who is a surveyor, confirm my property lines Turns out the garden shed he put up the previous year was on my property by 9 inches, as were the 10 Lilac bushes he put in around the same time I must admit it was a pleasure to call him with the good news & thank him for the beautiful Lilacs

    Plug –

You could just do like me and take care of both your neighbors lawns, snow, etc. When my dog takes a poop on their grass – I just run over and bag the hot, steamy pile before they even see it.

Seem to always have an extra 12 pack, bottle of wine or Jack on the front step –

But then – I am the redneck amongst tree huggers – have gear will use it

My rose bushes bloom, the azaleas thrive, coneflowers, black eyed susans, lilies add to the park like setting. The lawn looks like Augusta National and the ladies in the neighborhood come to me and ask how to grow things.

I would like to ask some of them to help me grow something.

I must be really lucky to have the neighbors that I have.

Although not perfect like I am to them…

I wouldn’t shoot a neighbors pet for a couple reasons. The first one would be that they could do the same with our two ankle biters. They haven’t left our yard in 8 years, but there could be a first time. Having a po’ed neighbor just waiting for one to put a paw on their property doesn’t seem like a good idea.

The other reason is that it’s not the dogs fault.

Kinda like beating up the mail box because there’s a letter addressed to someone else in it.

On the other hand, I did check into what I could and couldn’t do to protect my family when an animal came onto our property.

But that’s kind of my way. Aggression is met with aggression. Life is so much more fun when everyone gets along.

It is harder to get along when the “density” is a little tighter in the Metro areas.

Some friends of mine had a neighbor like that. To prevent the long grass they treated the fence row with an herbicide. If it accidentally sprayed a couple inches onto the neighbors property, it was considered collateral damage. It made a nice solid line to separate the two yards and there was a 4″ “neutral zone” where no grasses crossed. Plus they didn’t have to tear up the weed whip hitting the fence.

The fence weave is going to work out fine. It is just going to take a couple days, it is tedious work. And we actually kind of like the feeling it gives you when you are in the backyard, even though it kind of makes it feel smaller.
