gps reception

    I just bought a 95 Pro Angler tiller and would like to know if I will get good gps signal with a 522c or HDS5 mounted inside the electronics compartment with the door open or will I need an external antenna. Thanks for any input

    I would go with the external antenna.

    x 2 on external! Even if it worked for you, my guess is it would frustrate you at times not getting signal or loosing it.

    That or see if you can get like a swing arm ram mount that would allow it to come out of the compartment when fishing.

    I just mounted a 788CI in a 95′ Pro-V electronics compartment with a 111 Ram mount. I can swing it up and out and it gets great reception.
