Realizing with the assistance of others on this site earlier that the short shaft Yamaha F6 motor I bought as a trolling motor wasn’t right for my 17″ Lund Fisherman, but not wanting to give up on what I think is a good motor…. started looking at the Panther mounts. Manual lift 55040 that has a 10″ lift. I Think I can mount it a little low, and compensate for my shaft length. Or get the 55-0027 fixed bracket. The fixed seems like a no brainer as it can be mounted to off-set the shaft length. I’m curious if the lift is a pretty cool thing for making life easier, and also solving my problem? Anyone have any experience with these?

A benefit to keeping the short shaft, I could use it as a go to motor on a small 12″ boat I have as well.

Odd thing is both are very close in price, $240-$289.

Downside is I’ll have $1300 into this when a new F6 runs $1600.

but when you get done using it, you can un-bolt it and take it with you.
i’ve got bolt ons from 30 years back that i just put onto my new boats.
