I took video of this from Wednesday afternoon….Launching w/my buddy and while getting squared away he somehow grabbed my tackle bag and a loose Rat-L-Trap hook buried into his wrist…..Here is the video of the hook removal using the “line trick” (a few minor cuss words)

Good job saving a few hundred bucks for a doctor visit

Only a UW-Plattville grad would get in a situation like that.

Still made me cringe, but nice to see it via a live video and glad it worked the first time. Give that guy a man card.

That worked slick! I gotta admit, I was getting a little quesy just watching!

My son did this a couple of years back. Luckily, his FIL is a doctor and went to town and got some Lidocain to numb his hand before he yanked it out.

Always have the other guy grab the tackle box when launching.

    The old on 3 trick.

Wow, that is very cool (sorry it happened to you of course). I’m a wimp when it comes to this stuff, but this wasn’t too bad. I think the link below has a step-by-step list for your method and some others. I’ll have to print it out and keep it in the tackle box. American Physicians Let me know if anyone has a better one.

Looks like a slick way to remove the hook.

I was fishing by myself one day and had a larger pike in the boat.

I grabbed the pike with the rapala in the mouth yet and it did a flip and guess what, a treble in the hand.

I cut the lure off the fish and then removed all by the one hook on the treble. Then I took a hemostat and pushed the barb through my skin, cut off the barb and backed it back out.

    Really was not that bad.

Why I ever grabbed that pike with the lure in it’s mouth is still beyond me.

Kraig, the other night I was just looking at some of the pictures from that trip and the one you took of the urgent care entrance was classic!

I have video of a treble being “line trick” extracted from side of my head. Not sure what was worse….the hook or the 1oz jigging spoon smacking me in the noggin after the fish “threw” it at me.

I hate that when the fish throw stuff at fisherman.
