It is one of the best Android handsets you can buy right now, next to the Motorola Altrix. Behind those two would probably be the Droid Bionic.
Droid X is the best in my opinion. The Droid X2 is coming out pretty soon (if you like big phones). Thunderbolt is fine… but there is no 4G LTE coming to MN anytime soon. Word is that the Thunderbolt searches for that 4G signal… never finds it, but drains your battery because it is constantly polling for it. I think I saw that there was some fix for that coming soon… not sure.

Huh??? Sure looks like 4G LTE is available in MN to me.
The HTC thunderbolt was benchmarked as almost 2x as fast as the Droid X. It also has a Super LCD compared to the LCD screen, a better battery, dual-core processor, and 768MB of RAM compared to the Droid X at 512MB of RAM.

you kids and your droids…
I have a buddy that has the Thunderbolt Loves it. Not many draw backs to it. It’s really just a slightly updated Sprint EVO. However it has a smaller battery, and I know the Evo will drain a battery QUICK! If you are in 4G it flies on the download to doubt about it. I don’t know though. If your phone is more than serviceable right now, and you really want a phone that is more like a computer, I would say wait a bit. just my opinion.
I think the thunderbolt Like the Evo, and Evo shift, and well alot of the super phones out there right now. is the last in the line of single processors. I know Sprint has a phone that I’m waiting for that has a dual, and I know there are others on the way to other carriers as well. Seeing as how people tend to gut hung up on speed scores I’m just saying it may be worth your time to wait.
Phones are like computers you may have the biggest and baddest when yo get it but give it a month or two. So really it depends how up to date you want to be.
I wouldn’t say its “slightly updated” at all. The evo comes with the snapdragon qsd8650, made in 2008, and the bolt has the snapdragon msm8655 from last year. It also has 768MB of RAM compared to the EVO’s 512.
Tbolt > evo

Exactly. Slight. If it had a 1.2 G dual then I would say it’s a more signifigant update. It’s not like it doubled anything or has any new bells and whistles. It’s the same phone with a hardware update. and not even that significant of an update in my opinion. not to mention they downgraded the battery. So more power less juice.
I’m not saying it’s a bad phone. I’m not even saying it’s a lesser phone. The updates are good, but I just think the updates they did to basically a 1 year old phone could have been more that’s all. HTCs new Evo coming out this summer I think is a more significant upgrade though. a 1.2 dual core , and 1730mAh battery is a more significant upgrade.
But I have a feeling why they aren’t more either.
I think Google and HTC are holding back on Verizon for taking on the iPhone, much like if you wanted an android phone that had anything to it you wouldn’t go with AT&T there android selection was well, sad.

dual-core processor
TB does not have a dual core processor. I believe the Atrix is the only model to have one right now. The new Evo 3D will have a dual core processor.
I was reading the wrong specs, thinking the TB had the MSM8960 as it was originally intended, but ended up only shipping with the MSM8655.

Also the Optimus 2X has a dual-core processor.
I can’t wait to see the heat sink that comes with those dual cores.
Well, crow tastes just like chicken!
Last I saw, MN wasn’t 4G. uhg. And I just bought my X in Feb.
