finmanPosts: 277April 12, 2011 at 10:51 pm #956512Is there a new season starting? I thought they weren’t going to have another season because of a contract dispute.
Thanks

April 12, 2011 at 11:36 pm #956526Looks like I’ll be flipping channels between new Catch and new Only in America – Larry the Cable Guy.
Add in a little IDO and Poker on the net too.

April 13, 2011 at 11:22 am #956595This show makes Tues night that much better! Looks like the new guy is kicking butt right now.
April 13, 2011 at 11:26 am #956596Two hour season premier and then flip over to watch the Twins win in extra innings.
April 13, 2011 at 11:30 am #956600Yeah, I didn’t realize it was 2 hrs… flippin’ between DC, Top Shot after 9 and the TWINS in between…
April 13, 2011 at 11:59 am #956611Great show!
I think the 2 new additions will be nice to see! I love the young kid running the ship like he’s done it for 20 years. And the new captain of the CM seems to be a hard *ss! This is going to be a good season. But what happened to WIld Bill? I thought he was coming back?
John SchultzInactivePortage, WIPosts: 3309April 13, 2011 at 12:15 pm #956618Wild Bill is on. They just didn’t show much of him the first episode.
April 13, 2011 at 4:40 pm #956759pretty cool at the begining when the boats gathered around and they sent Capt Phil’s ashes down in a crab pot to a full firework salute, that was really a great way to honor him.

I agree
sandmanndPosts: 928April 14, 2011 at 3:04 am #957038With the recap, I will say I still get tear jerked a little when they show the Capt Phil fight for life.
The season opener was good but not great. I like how it started with all the boats in a circle paying tribute to him and dumping a pot with his ashes in it. After that the show was OK. I do like what they did with Edgar making it look like he wasn’t fishing this year. The Northwestern and Time Bandit seem to be on their game. Didn’t pay of for Johnathan to hit the same crab grounds four years in a row.
The Wizard is the Wizard. I have very little respect for Keith and he just continues to show why every year. He keeps throwing out the “who’s the capt!!” crap all the time with his crew like he’s so high and mighty yet puts them in harms way all the time.
The new boat with the 28 year old capt might be decent but not sure why he fired one guy when they were all drinking. Maybe he’s just trying to show he’s in charge.
The guy captaining the CM for the Harris boys seems to be another Keith. Very power trippy. He goes off on the long time engineer for being gone with one of the owners of the boat? Seems like they got squared away and heading out though. I hope they do well.
Looks like another interesting season coming up. Still one of my favorite shows.

Couldn’t have been a better start to the show!!!
Sig was in the Northwoods last winter, just couldn’t get there to see him.
Wasn’t surprised that they had a show this year, but was that the Hallstrands were back… Good start, got next weeks record button hit.

April 14, 2011 at 5:57 pm #957248It was only the Hillstrands that were in a contract dispute over another matter with Dicovery Channel. That was resolved and business as usual.
