I’m looking at getting a new tent, my existing 2-man tent is starting to tear at the seams and leaks bad during rain.

I’m looking for a larger 2-4 person tent. I’m probably looking at a 4 person tent. I would like something with a lot of windows if possible but also a good rainfly.

Not looking to spend a ton either…

I’ve been looking at the Coleman ones, just questioning the quality of their tents after a while.

We got a Coleman last year, but I can’t speak to the durability, because we don’t use it that much.

Beyond that we like the tent a lot. It is amazing how easy they make it to pop them up now.

keep you eyes on the fleet farm add..i’d encourage you to consider a 6 man which really means 3 person but would give you more room to keep “stuff” like a queen size air matress..as for coleman for the cost get whats on sale use it until it falls apart and buy another one..should cost $130.00

I like the tents made by Super 8 or Best Western. I sleep a lot better in them

Looking at our Shopko ad that came in the mail today, they have a 6 person Coleman for $108.88.

Unless you are hiking, the bigger the tent the better. You would be surprised what else you could bring!!

I’ve used a Coleman Tent for about 8 years now and no problems. Nice rain fly, decent ‘windows’, I can set it up myself….I can’t ever remember getting wet in it either. Rain-fly works great. Just wish it had a 6.5 foot ceiling

Look at the cabelas brand tent, may be a little bit more but the full rain fly goes all the way to the ground and not half way down, that leaves the botton of the tent get wet.

Wisdom. I have a Cabela’s Alaskan Guide, 8 man. Stays dry in a down pour. So you are looking for a tent? Does this mean you are going to Canada with us come June?

One feature on my tent that is invaluable is the waterproof bottom material extends up 3-4 inches on the sidewalls which prevents runoff and seepage from the ground entering the tent.

i run 4 tents when camping. REally like the BAss Pro models. Running the flooring material up 6″ is important. Other than that, most of the tents are good these days. Getting the tuffest material is better.

I know it is hard to spend the cash but it is worth it. It is better to buy it right the first time. North Face makes an excellent tent. The number thing I look for is a good rain fly. It needs to cover the whole tent…you will regret it if it doesn’t. Good luck.
