Took the last trip of the season on sunday. Spent 2 hours on the water. I was hoping to find a rattle trap bite but no Dice. Spent about an hour and a half draging 3/8 oz jigs in dark colors.
Most of the fish caugth were found on points in about 5 feet of water. The KEY to the day was SLOW!!! I would pitch the jig and let the motion of the boat pull it across the bottom.
I let it drag for about 10 seconds, shake it, then pick the rod tip up so it would glide. I usualy got bit as I lifted the rod tip up for the glide. I played around with the length of drag but never got bit with less than a 10 count. They really wanted to look at it before commiting.
Hope this helps anyone heading out for a late season Bass trip. BTW… I went out in the afternoon so the surface had some time to warm.
