Praise God for giving me a Great couple days Pre-Fishing & 2-Club Tounrey’s in NW Wisc. Best part was time Fishing with some Good Friends and our Friendly & Competitive Bass Tournaments.

Special Thanks to Tim for sharing his house and giving me a place to crash and unwind for a few days along with good conversation. Also to my Cousin Lynne and her husband for a great dinner of Burgers, Wine and good conversation Saturday evening out in the Boonies of Burnett County.

Thursday was awesome PreFishin Spooner, 1st limit of 5-legal 14″+ LMB in less than the 1st hour, total C&R 30+ in 5-hours. No Map and 2nd time on the lake. My wife would really like it, clear water, sandy beaches and lots of Bass for me to chase.

Cold Front Thursday evening changed everything, Typically the Weather Forecasts were way off and sooo WRONG! They really screwed this one up. At least 10f cooler and Winds twice what they forecast.

Friday Prefishin was tough on Clam, 3-Legal fish in 5-hours of hard fishing in Gusty Winds and 1st time ever on the lake by myself and no map. Not a bad day considering the conditions.

Sat Tourney on Spooner was tough but managed a poor 8th of 12 with 3-LMB and a Wicked Wind Storm of 1/2-hour 45-50mph and 60+mph Gusts.

We (Tim & I) heard at least 9-Trees come down on the Island we took refuge behind. Yes, FEAR was creeping through my bones watching 3’+ Waves all whitecapped and looking like it was raining over the lake, yet nothing coming from the sky.

Sunday on Clam got 4-LMB incl. Big Bass 3.92# 19-1/2″ for BigBass Pot for 8.62# for 2nd place; My partner Steve got 5-for 11.72# to Win & combined with mine we Won the Big Boat Weight Pot too. (We found ours in a Big Mucky Boggy area <18″ water w/Pads Grass & the Clam River flowing in through the bog, Water Temp 65f-68f, Lee-side of Wind SE@8-S@20 71f-82f. Most were either next to the Bog edge or on the inside edge of the Grass and scattered Pads clumps). 3rd place = 4.83# w/4 Bass.
My weight would have Won the Big Boat weight by itself and our total was more than the combined weight from the other 10 anglers.

Sadly, a couple of our best Sticks were Skunked today/Sunday. This was really a Non-Typical Spring Fishing Day, Thursday most all fish I found were on beds, then to find all these Bass in the Mucky Bog? But, as my partner and I figured out they were not on Beds or typical Spring spots so we just gave something else a try and Won Big by a very lucky guess of Trial & Error.

I cant wait to hit Spooner this summer. I got several wicked northerns (and a nice bass) there last the only time I went. Looking forward to really targeting the bass out there.

If my memory serves me correct, spooner looses some visibility as the summer progresses and the weeds increase.
