We’ll be staying on thousand island lake. Walleye will be the primary target. I was told that bass season isn’t open until late june. Musky will also be targetted.

In the upper right hand corner of this page you should see a little flashing mail stamp by your name and login/logout. Click on it and you will see I sent you a pm. Ask more questions, answer some of mine and we’ll try to get you some ideas for the chain.

    Mark,
Thanks for taking the time to help out. I’m not sure if you got my last message so I’ll repeat what I said.
We are staying on the UP and will purchase MI licenses. I heard that WI honors MI licenses but if not we will get WI licenses also. Can’t let the cost of a license limit our chances.
We will probably spend most of our time casting jigs & twister tails because of their versatility. But I’m open to all suggestions. I like to fish musky in the early hours and everything else when I’m too tired to cast big baits anymore.
I have some maps and a GPS but no experience on any of these lakes so if you can put us in some good areas I’m pretty sure we’ll find em.

I also stay on Thousand Island and have been staying up there for 22 years. We usually go the first week of June, but if there is anything I can help you with let me know.

It is a beautiful lake!!! I have fished it for muskies mostly, but think that the ‘eye/smallie fishing would be off the hook. I have a friend who lives on the lake and says the ciscoes make the fishing for ‘eyes near impossible. What kind of fishing do you do and what kind of success do you have???

We mainly target walleye and perch. I have caught some decent muskies, mainly on the south part of the chain. Biggest has been 45 in. There are a ton of smallet walleye in the lakes, we really have to work to get keepers. Just looking for some ideas to find larger fish. Think we are going to try a little more night fishing this year. Seems the southern lakes are more productive to me.
