Spirit Lake

Has anyone been on this body of water in Trade Lake, Wi. lately? I normally make it up there a couple times a year but haven’t made it yet. Any updates would be helpful.

Man, it’s been a long time since I thought about that lake. I went to school in Frederic and we used to do well on the crappies. I used to date a girl that lived on the lake and her dad used to sink old Christmas trees for us. Fun little lake.

I’ve never had much success going after crappies or sunnies but have caught a few. I normally just set up a spread of tip ups and go for the northerns.

Made it up to Spirit this last weekend. Got a few small northerns and one very large bass on the tip ups. But, the amazing part was the success going after the sunnies. In a day normally we would only catch a few very small ones. On saturday we couldn’t keep them off the end of our lines. Not large by any means but average and great eaters. It was a terrific day.
