    Morning all,
I was thinking of hitting either Big Round or Blake tomorrow, but am wondering what the ice condition is like. With all the wet snow and rain the past few days, I really don’t relish the idea of getting soaking wet from the knees down.
Anyone one in that area have a report? How much ice? Are there 4 wheelers out yet?
    Thanks in advance,
    Donnie

I had 8 inches of solid ice on a polk county lake like two weeks ago. Haven’t been back up there since then, since the fishing was really bad. I think they got more snow up there instead of rain, so im thinking the ice might be a little better. Hopefully not as slushy.

Let us know where you went and how you did. I have a cabin on Big Blake. The fishing has been a little slow and you have to pick thru what you do get to save a few keepers.

And the ice conditions can be summarized in one word: [censored]. Slop all over and water is coming out of any hole or crack.

There are atvs out, but with the lastest snow and rain I would hesitate on adding any additional weight out there if you don’t have to.

Thanks guys, that helps alot. I may decide to wait yet another week before I venture to the great white north. I’ll make sure to post a report.

7-9 inches of ice on bone lake as of yesterday during the snow. Hit quite a few slushy spots with the ATV on the north side of the lake. Maybe this cold front will get that slush taken care of by the end of the weekend. Maybe able to drive out mid-week next week? We will see. Caught some silver dollar crappies and a bunch of small (male?) perch.
