Quick report – – – can’t see keyboard – – must sleep. Put in a long day, and a few miles. Started on lower turtle this morning. Marked a lot of fish in 18′ – 20′ of water. Only one decent taker – crappie on a 1/16 oz. spoon & minnow head. Also a few real small perch. Went to Poskin for a while. Lots of real small perch (1 keeper) & some short sunfish. Back to Lower Turtle. Around 3:00 things began to pick up. We wound up getting 9 nice crappies & 4 decent sunnies with lots of little guys in between. 18′ of water with waxies & glow teardrops. Most fish were 1′ to 3′ off the bottom.

Just got in from the lake this evening. Things were a little slower & turned on a little later tonight. Caught a lot of small fish, mostly perch. Did manage four keepers, 1 perch, 1 sunnie, & 2 crappie. Highlight of the trip was getting a chance to meet & visit a little bit with fellow IDAer Briank. Hey ‘Kid, you know longer need to feel like the Lone Ranger, briank outfished me too!!

What’s this about Briank outfishing people? I was with him, Stillakid, and MikeW a couple of weeks ago and outfished them. Although 3-zip isn’t bragging rights, it was enjoyable nevertheless. Maybe a little challenge here? Just for funsies?

Ummm…………(just for “funsies”)………..You gotta know something about Briank……….his recollection can get foggy sometimes and I’m thinking you heard the story wrong.

He uhhh…………..hasn’t outfished me yet………..fact being I had to skunk just so he could keep up with me!

Ya know………… I really hate setting the perception straight on account of I think you’re an alright guy and I’d hate to put the “dis” on ya for bringing to light your unfortunate status/production record regarding BrianK.

If you think it’d help, we should arrange an outing with the 3 of us just so you can witness the adverse effect I place on Brian’s confidence and ability!

Then, pending on who’s the “winner”, we’ll let them contact Putz for a “playoff”! To add to the challenge, we’ll have Briank drill the holes!

No…………really…………he can take it to me on the ice AAALLLLLL he wants to…………..it’s the soft water that counts and that’s a MUCH longer season!

You know kid, hitting the ice together sounds like it could be a good time. I know things are busy right now, and the big GTG is next weekend, but maybe some of us IDAers that live & fish up this direction should get together & hit the ice sometime. Even if just for the afternoon or morning, nothing elaborate with a lot of planning or preperation. What do you think?
