Heading up there for a couple days with the family. Never been there and will be staying at the Birch Point Resort. My brother will be bringing his boat to the campsite and we would like to try some panfishing. Any suggestions to get us started would be appreciated. Also any areas on the lake to be aware of for issues? Thanks.

Sorry I can’t help with any fishing advice, but watch out for stumps!

I used to fish there a lot but it has been a few years. I would say you need to be aware of the entire lake for issues! There are stumps pretty much no matter where you go. I have lost an anchor and prop there. Go slow! As for fishing, over the years we caught good size crappies and sunnies pretty much all over the lake. We usually tried to stay in the deeper channel in the middle of the lake. There is also a bay at the one end of the lake that is good. Good luck.

A friends family has a place on Marshmiller. I’ve only been on it once, good Bass lake. And yes, Stumps!
