Talked to a fellow that was up to Magnor this weekend. He reported that the panfish action was decent, but the fish were on the small side. I was up there late last winter and caught lots of perch. In fact we had action all day long. However, we never kept a one as they all ran small. Anyone else out there fish this lake? I want to get up there & try it again this winter.

I’ve only fished it a couple times and both times the fish were small so I haven’t gone back since. I haven’t heard much lately about bigger fish.

I’ve been on it about a half dozen times Coot.

Magnor gets a LOT of local pressure. It’s a good producer when people back off and the fish get a chance to grow but knowing the bulk of the shacks spotted are all looking for eaters, it gets “fished out” easily. There was a 3 year run that things were “okay” but last year the “smallish fish” was all you could hear about. People that reside on the lake mentioned that there are too many people for that size of a lake to be keeping numbers of fish.

I’ve never seen a real good tip-up bite there either. I’ve never seen a flag go!

I know of a couple decent spots on the lake for catching the fish but this lake needs a lot of CPR to bring it back. I figure, if one of the guys I know of that was there just to fill the bucket every time, has moved on because of poor results, maybe others will follow? It’d be a great lake to show CPR……………if everyone wasn’t buried in a shack!

Don’t get me wrong………I like eaters too but I know this lake can NOT withstand the harvest pressure it receives.

Hey guys, heard a rumor they are getting some walleyes up there after dark. I was told the prime time is between 7 p.m. & 9 p.m. Not sure about locations or presentations. Some people I know are thinking of going up there tonight, so if I get any info I will pass it along. Anyone else heard their getting walleyes up there?

There are walleyes in there but have never known anyone who really chases them there. I talked to a resident 3 years ago who’s wife had been fishing off their dock in mid-October and landed a 33 incher! They pulled it for the taxidermist…………….but there ARE walleyes there!
