How about the lake that produced all of these fish?

No shortage of musky, pike, and of course, walleyes too!

All of my guests from late June through September end up with a chance to wrestle with big ol’ bronzebacks.

Jason, That pic of the kid with the smallie is still one of my all-time favorites!

Mine too Wade…thanks for the compliment. And I appreciate your positive feedback too, Elliott; I hope we get a chance to fish together again this year. We bagged a few nice smallies during your trip last summer.

I dug around and found a few more smallie pics from the home waters. Wissota is a great multi-species fishery, but once the water temps peak out in mid-summer, the smallmouth reigns supreme.

Red Cedar Lake has more big smallies than any other lake in the area.

If he is looking further to the east, three that I can think of would be Squirrel, Tomahawk, and Big Lake on County K. There are other great smallie lakes in the area, as well as other great muskie lakes.

If you really want giant smallies up here hit chequamegon bay id say the average bass is 18+ inches with 20 being common.

I have found none better for big smallies than LCO.
