First & foremost welcome to IDO. You have just found the best fishing internet resource available! A couple questions. Will you be fishing from shore or in a boat? Secondly I have 3 kids & from experience especially at that age they dont care what specie or size of fish they are catching as long as you keep it interesting!Fish could all be 3″ long & they will be happy. With that said panfish generally take the top honors when looking to keep them more interested. Then trying for bass or walleye afterward.Pulling out a candy bar,bag of peanuts or jerky from your pocket if the fish dont cooperate will usually put a smile on their face.A bit more info & Im sure you will get a few replies here. Best of luck fishing. WHITE TIP

September is a great time for daytime smallies on Lac Courte Orielles. Decent nighttime walleye bite as the month progresses.

Thanks for your reply,we would be fishing by boat. Do you have any info on a quality and affordable resort or lodge that we could stay and rent a boat

I stay at the Pioneer on Long, decent cabins in the center of the lake (it is a very long lake) also there is good fishing right out from the resort, I troll up and down that shoreline and do well for bass walleye and pike. Also the Pioneer has real good bar food. Not atop end resort but comfortable and clean- well cared for. I know they give small boats with the cabin. check out there web sight.
