A buddy and me are planning an ice trip, somewhere in northern WI, but not more than a couple hours from Eau Claire. Ive heard Big Round was a decent lake. Anyone have an useful info on it? Thanks alot!
Me and 3 others hit it one day last Jan and didn’t do very well. Might be willing to give it another try though.

Big Round is a great lake to fish just remember you can get on the fish but being MOBILE is the key don’t stay long in one spot if you don’t have fish keep moving around.We have been doing good on gills and some real nice ones but we keep on the move.Course if we could get some stable weather to last for more than a day the fishing would pick up.
was on Big Round yesterday afternoon , slow doesn’t describe it. not a soul on the lake other than a group over in the Se corner about 15-20. From 2:30 until 5:30 I never saw anyone catch a fish and I only had one bite.
Thats too bad- How’s the ice, would like to try late next week…
Ice was holding up pretty good. Took my atv out without any problems. Public landing was still in good shape as far as getting on with an ATV.

How much ice did you have?
plenty of ice . The landings are whats going. Full length of the auger.
